Realme Narzo N55 Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Realme Narzo N55 Overview
Realme Narzo N55 - almost a hit?
The Chinese company Realme successfully competes with the market leaders, but the corporation's product range does not consist of only bestsellers. Nevertheless, rather mediocre smartphones and devices that lack only a few finishing touches before success come out from under the manufacturer’s conveyor. The hero of today's review became such an apparatus.
It is unlikely that there will be many people who do not like the design of new items. The ergonomic shape of the case, a neat block of two cameras, a side fingerprint sensor loved by millions and a screen with an 8-megapixel front sensor in the upper part, not spoiled by thick frames, are combined into an exterior that is relevant for the middle price segment. The 6.72-inch IPS screen features a decent brightness for the type of matrix used, almost 700 nits, an impressive FullHD + resolution, and even a 90-Hz refresh rate. They definitely did not save on this component of the gadget.
But the technical characteristics already raise some questions. The MediaTek Helio G88 CPU is far from the worst chipset in the world, but using older models of the same line would be more logical. The processor with 4GB / 6GB of RAM and the Mali G52MC2 video accelerator copes with the Android 13 interface, albeit with minor lags, but not with all demanding games. Projects like PUBG Mobile that do not have advanced 3D graphics will delight with smooth gameplay, while Genshin Impact, Wreckfest and similar applications will already experience obvious problems even with sparing graphic settings. The size of the internal memory was standard for the price category 64 / 128GB of ROM, expandable with MicroSD cards. The battery capacity has been increased to 5000 mAh, sufficient for one and a half days of active use of the mobile assistant. Not forgotten and fast charging at 33W.
64- and 2-megapixel photomodules will not cover all shooting scenarios due to the lack of a wide-angle lens and a telephoto lens in their range, and there is no optical stabilization. However, the main module from Omnivision performs well in daytime photography, and a special night mode in the software helps to preserve the detail of pictures taken in poor light. Of course, for the complete elimination of noise and lubrication, you will have to turn to more expensive analogues. Fans of high-quality stereo sound and fans of NFC contactless payments should also take a closer look at them. As a result, there are too many minor shortcomings, so it’s impossible to unequivocally recommend the device for purchase.
