Realme Neo8 Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Realme Neo8 Overview
Realme Neo8 – that's what they call a bestseller
Even renowned manufacturers can't consistently release smartphones that offer amazing value for money, but that's not a requirement for impressive commercial success. Sometimes, you just need to disrupt the market with a few incredibly powerful, stylish, and functional phones in their price segments. And it looks like the Chinese company Realme has managed to do just that with the subject of today's review.
The new device's appearance is extremely attractive. It retains the series' signature colors, adding a unique texture to the rear glass panel. The combination of a beautiful photo module array, virtually bezel-less screen, metal edging, and IP69 water resistance elevates the device above its competitors in terms of its well-thought-out exterior. The 6.83-inch AMOLED panel is free of any obvious flaws. Excellent image clarity at a 2712x1272 pixel resolution is complemented by smooth content at a flagship 165 Hz refresh rate, a respectable 3000 nit brightness, and realistic color reproduction. And an oleophobic coating hasn't been forgotten.
The technical specifications are also superb. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, 12/16 GB of RAM, and a slightly simplified Adreno 840 GPU score over three million points in AnTuTu, which seems incredible considering the device's price tag. You can easily run the most resource-intensive games at maximum graphics settings and enjoy smooth and stable gameplay. Of course, this power is also sufficient for smooth operation of Android 16. The battery, with a capacity of up to 8000 mAh, is also impressive. The only obvious cost-cutting feature is the lack of wireless charging, but there is an 80W wired alternative. You'll only need to use it once every 2-3 days. Storage options are 256GB, 512GB, and 1024GB.
Surprisingly, the photography capabilities are top-notch. While the 8-megapixel wide-angle lens is definitely budget-friendly, the main 50-megapixel Sony IMX896 camera module and the 50-megapixel Samsung telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom feature hybrid image stabilization and handle challenging shooting scenarios competently. They even handle dynamic scenes in low light. Stereo sound is present, and there's support for 5G networks, NFC, and an IR port. While the B7 lacks FDD-LTE, it does offer non-removable apps and services for China, as there's no global version yet. But this nuance will definitely not be an obstacle to purchasing such an outstanding device.
