Realme P4 4G – Extremely Unbalanced

The Chinese company Realme is almost word for word following the path of its main competitor, Xiaomi. While we initially saw an abundance of smartphones with incredible price-quality ratios across all price segments, the manufacturer has gradually become noticeably more restrained. Now, it's looking to secure additional profits, as it already has a certain market audience in its hands. This is why we often see downright run-of-the-mill phones like the one we're reviewing today.

The new device's appearance is quite good. Beautifully ribbed vertical lines on the back panel, an interesting camera module, and narrow display bezels with a built-in fingerprint scanner are complemented by decent ergonomics. Unfortunately, water resistance only meets IP65 standards, so diving with the mobile assistant is not recommended. However, you can talk in the rain without any worries. Another drawback is the widespread use of plastic throughout. The 6.8-inch AMOLED display is quite high-quality. The 2344x1080 resolution is normal for the price range, and the 120Hz refresh rate ensures smooth images. The peak brightness of 4000 nits allows the display to withstand direct sunlight, and there are no noticeable color errors.

Let's move on to one of the more disappointing aspects: the technical specifications. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 685 processor, 6GB/8GB of RAM, and Adreno 610 GPU are a noticeably outdated combination, barely sufficient for the stable operation of the Android 16 interface. In the AnTuTu benchmark, the CPU scores 270,000-290,000 points, making resource-intensive games virtually unplayable. The frame rate is unstable even at minimum graphics settings. But at least the battery life is impressive. A 7000mAh battery guarantees over 10-12 hours of screen-on time, and there's even 45W wired fast charging. Storage is limited to 128GB/256GB; a microSD card slot has been removed for some reason.

Photography capabilities are also lacking. The tiny 50-megapixel main sensor from Omnivision, with its auxiliary 0.3-megapixel sensors, is only capable of shooting in ideal daylight conditions. Noise and blur are visible, and detail is far from exceptional. Stereo sound is present, but it's muted and flat. Thankfully, NFC contactless payments are included. So, this is a low-performance device with mediocre cameras, which has more sophisticated and well-balanced competitors.
