Realme V50 Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Realme V50 Overview
Realme V50 - where are the cameras?
Experienced manufacturers know how to save money correctly to create a balanced phone in the low-mid price segment. However, sometimes even well-known companies have strange mistakes. Thus, when developing the hero of today’s review, the Chinese corporation Realme clearly saved on photo capabilities.
The appearance of the new product is quite beautiful for the price category. The design is devoid of huge display frames or outdated design of the selfie camera (8 megapixel module), interesting body colors and an ergonomic side fingerprint scanner are pleasing. The photo module block also does not disappoint. The 6.72-inch IPS screen is far from the cheapest. It boasts both FullHD+ resolution and a modern 120 Hz picture refresh rate. A brightness reserve of 800 nits allows you to use the mobile assistant in direct sunlight, even if visibility drops noticeably.
The technical characteristics are MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ CPU, 6GB/8GB RAM and Mali G57MC2 video adapter. In fact, we have before us an updated 700 chipset from the same developer with improved energy efficiency. Performance of 350,000 points in the AnTuTu benchmark indicates the smooth and trouble-free operation of the Android 13 interface based on the RealmeUI shell, and the ability to run most games. Perhaps the only exceptions will be Honkai: Star Rail, Fortnite and similar projects that require lowering the graphic settings to the minimum presets. The autonomy provided by the 5000mAh battery is approaching 10 hours of active screen time. A 33W charger will help the battery reach full capacity in 70-80 minutes. The size of the permanent memory of 128/256GB can be increased with MicroSD cards.
Unfortunately, the main 13- and 2-megapixel sensors are a real disappointment. The simplest sensors, even during the day, are not always ready to create a detailed frame without an abundance of blur and noise. In addition, they often make mistakes in white balance, the photos are either too light or too dark. The only speaker, characterized by low volume and lack of bass, is also unimpressive. Also, the device does not have NFC contactless payments. Thus, the reviewed gadget is inferior in functionality and cameras to many opponents, which is why it cannot be definitely recommended for purchase.
