Samsung Galaxy A55 5G Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Samsung Galaxy A55 5G Overview
Samsung Galaxy A55 5G - behind opponents
The A-series of smartphones from the Korean company Samsung has made significant leaps in functionality and performance over the past couple of years, making its competitiveness impressive even compared to its Chinese counterparts. However, it seems that the developer decided to take a break in this half of the year and practically not improve the mid-priced model in the new generation of the line.
The appearance of the new product is similar to that of its predecessor. The familiar block of three cameras and the similar shape of the plastic body are complemented by slightly smaller screen frames. Moisture protection according to IP68 standards has been maintained, the colors of the rear panels have been slightly changed. The AMOLED display slightly increased in brightness, other parameters (resolution 2340x1080 pixels, 120 Hz picture refresh rate) remained the same. There is an under-screen fingerprint sensor, the accuracy of its operation is quite high.
Metamorphoses have occurred in technical characteristics. The latest proprietary Exynos 1480 CPU works in tandem with 8GB of RAM and a video adapter from AMD. The bundle scores about 700 thousand AnTuTu points and performs well in everyday life. Applications launch in a split second, the Android 14 interface is even free of microlag. With games, the situation is somewhat worse due to the emerging throttling, however, resource-intensive Genshin Impact and Fortnite will still provide comfortable gameplay with low-medium graphic settings. Another good thing is that the 128/256GB ROM can be expanded with MicroSD cards. There is no saving on battery capacity, which has reached 5000 mAh. Thanks to such a battery, it is easy to achieve 8-10 hours of active screen time, however, there is also a drawback in the form of charging power of only 25W.
The photo capabilities of the main 50-megapixel (main sensor with hybrid stabilization), 12-megapixel (wide-angle lens) and 5-megapixel (macro camera) photo modules have not advanced, but remain relevant for the value segment. Daytime photographs can easily be confused with those taken on flagship cameras, and evening shots do not lose too much detail due to noise and blur. The stereo sound is not particularly loud, but you can hear the bass. NFC support and a reasonable price for an A-brand add to the list of advantages of the device, but part of the audience will opt for more beautiful and high-tech alternatives from China.
