Samsung Galaxy M56 Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Samsung Galaxy M56 Overview
Samsung Galaxy M56 - thin mediocrity
The M-series of smartphones from the Korean company Samsung has always been characterized by problems with positioning. Some models were released with an emphasis on increased autonomy, others - on the overall balance of technical and other characteristics. The hero of today's review focuses on the modest thickness of the monoblock. Unfortunately, it has no other serious competitive advantages.
The appearance of the new product is quite attractive. The ergonomic case also pleases with a stylish glass back panel, a neat block of cameras, a barely noticeable eye of a high-quality 12-megapixel selfie camera, relatively narrow screen frames. There is no metal edging, and there is no moisture protection according to IP68 standards, but these things are already often found in opponents. The 6.74-inch AMOLED display has a number of obvious pros and cons. Thus, the FullHD+ resolution no longer looks optimal for a diagonal in 2025, and the PWM effect is quite pronounced, which will not please people sensitive to it. But at the same time, there is a smooth picture at a refresh rate of 120 Hz, and a decent brightness reserve of almost 2000 nits, and natural color rendition.
The Exynos 1480 processor is not the worst, but still far from the best solution compared to classmates from Qualcomm and MediaTek. Together with 8 GB of RAM and the Xclipse 530 video accelerator, the chipset gives about 650 thousand points in the AnTuTu test, but the resource-intensive and "heavy" OneUI shell based on Android 15 sometimes upsets with lags. Resource-intensive games run, but you can get comfortable gameplay with a stable framerate in the same Honkai: Star Rail only with low-medium graphic presets. The battery capacity is not particularly outstanding 5000 mAh, guaranteeing about 8-9 hours of active screen time. The fast charging power was 45 W, but competitors from China already have analogues in 90-100 W. As for the permanent memory, its volume is limited to 128/256 GB without a slot for expansion.
The photographic capabilities of the main cameras are not surprising. The 8-megapixel wide-angle lens and 2-megapixel macro module are very simple, it is not always possible to demand high-quality photos from them even during the day. The main 50-megapixel sensor already has hybrid stabilization, but still fails in difficult evening photo sessions with dynamic scenes. There is no stereo sound, which is definitely disappointing. The current Indian version does not have NFC contactless payments, but the release of the device in other countries will improve the situation. Thus, the gadget turned out to be too average, without memorable features, which is why it is unlikely to be truly competitive.
