Samsung Galaxy S23 FE Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Samsung Galaxy S23 FE Overview
Samsung Galaxy S23 FE - a worthy continuation of the series?
The Fan Edition line of smartphones from the Korean company Samsung has become incredibly popular thanks to the combination of a more than reasonable price and excellent functionality. The phones were not inferior to the best gadgets of the middle and sometimes high price segment in terms of performance, photo capabilities and other parameters. The hero of today's review also fits this description, albeit with some reservations.
The appearance of the new product is more than relevant, although it has drawbacks. The display frames could be narrower, and the back panel is made of polycarbonate. Unfortunately, it gets scratched quite quickly. But the positive aspects of the design include the branded body colors, the familiar triple camera unit, an under-screen fingerprint sensor and the relatively small thickness of the candy bar with moisture protection according to IP68 standards. The 6.4-inch AMOLED panel does not amaze with the detail of content at FullHD+ resolution, and its PWM effect is noticeable. This fact will definitely not please a number of users who are sensitive to it. But in terms of the naturalness of the picture, the brightness margin, the accuracy of the touch panel and the image refresh rate (120 hertz), the AMOLED screen is excellent.
The processor chosen for the device is Exynos 2200 in the European version and Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 in the American version. Both chipsets, coupled with 8GB of RAM, demonstrate amazing responsiveness of the mobile assistant during everyday use, but are subject to throttling and overheating over long distances. Therefore, it is recommended to run resource-intensive games like Honkai: Star Rail with medium-high graphics presets. The autonomy provided by the 4500 mAh battery is far from record-breaking, but it’s still possible to get 7-8 hours of active screen time. The battery supports both wired (25W) and wireless (15W) charging. The size of the permanent memory can be 128 or 256GB of ROM.
Of course, the S-series representative could not do without excellent cameras. The main 50-megapixel sensor with hybrid stabilization, a 12-megapixel wide-angle lens and an 8-megapixel telephoto lens with 3x zoom cover a wide range of shooting scenarios and are inferior to expensive flagships only in evening photo shoots. But in such photographs and videos, noise and blurring of objects will be more pronounced. The stereo sound is uniform, loud, rich, and we also note NFC and 5G support among the advantages. Thus, we have before us an amazing phablet, which can only be criticized for minor problems with technical characteristics.
