Samsung Galaxy S24 FE Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Samsung Galaxy S24 FE Overview
Samsung Galaxy S24 FE - growth in all parameters
FE models of the flagship S-series of smartphones from the Korean company Samsung were a kind of intermediate link between phones of the middle and high price segments. The manufacturer tried to take the successful flagship as a basis, simplify its materials, photo capabilities, functionality and other indicators so that the device would still remain attractive to users. The hero of today's review has undergone almost no changes, which characterizes it from the most positive side.
The appearance of the new product meets the standards of 2024. Thin screen frames with a built-in fingerprint scanner, a variety of colors of the back panels made of high-quality tempered glass, metal edging, moisture protection (IP68), a neat block of photo modules that almost does not protrude from the case make the exterior no worse than that of its opponents. Small traces of savings appear on the AMOLED panel used. For a 6.7-inch diagonal, the FullHD+ resolution does not look so optimal, the picture lacks a little clarity. But the peak brightness of 2000 nits is enough to maintain visibility of content in direct sunlight, and the smoothness at a 120 Hz refresh rate is also sufficient. There are no visible problems with color rendering or with the effectiveness of the oleophobic coating. But the PWM effect of the AMOLED display, unfortunately, is noticeable.
The technical characteristics include the latest Exynos 2400e CPU, 8 GB of RAM, and the Xclipse 940 video core. The bundle lags behind the top solutions of Qualcomm and MediaTek in performance (about one and a half million points in the AnTuTU test), but is still more interesting than previous chips. Throttling is observed, but not critical, you can happily play resource-intensive projects like Genshin Impact at high graphics settings and not be afraid of strong framerate jumps. The device functions for more than a day of active use from a 4700 mAh battery. There is wireless charging (15 W), but the wired analog is frankly disappointing with a power of 25 W. You will have to stay near the outlet for more than an hour. The permanent memory is allocated 128, 256 or 512 GB, depending on the configuration.
The photographic capabilities of the 50-megapixel main photo module and 8-megapixel telephoto lens (three-fold optical zoom) are also impressive due to the presence of hybrid stabilization in the sensors. The 12-megapixel wide-angle lens is still deprived of it. Daytime photos are indistinguishable from those taken with camera phones, evening photos and 8K video files are also good, but there is a lag in detail, and noise is visible. The stereo speakers are loud, the sound does not disappoint with the uniformity of the frequency response. Of course, the high-tech gadget could not do without NFC contactless payment, 5G network support and eSIM. Thus, we have an extremely balanced device that will be loved not only by fans of the brand.
