Samsung Galaxy S25 Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Samsung Galaxy S25 Overview
Samsung Galaxy S25 - too classic a flagship
The Korean company Samsung regularly pleases its fans with an updated flagship line of smartphones every year, but not all of its representatives arouse delight in the sophisticated audience. Thus, users have already gotten used to such a competitive advantage of the younger model as compact dimensions, but the new product cannot offer serious improvements in photo capabilities, display quality or battery life.
The appearance of the device largely repeats that of previous phones. Thin screen frames with a built-in fingerprint scanner, a pleasant to the touch metal edging of the case with moisture protection according to IP68 standards, a really wide range of color solutions for the rear glass panels evoke positive emotions, but the design of the camera block could be more modern, and in general the exterior lacks something new. The 6.2-inch AMOLED display has good image clarity at FullHD+ resolution, its smoothness at a refresh rate of 120 Hz. However, the manufacturer still does not fight the PWM effect, the color rendering sometimes disappoints with errors, and the peak brightness is already not a record 2600 nits.
There are no complaints about the technical characteristics. The latest "overclocked" Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite CPU, 12 GB of RAM, Adreno 830 video core guarantee more than three million points in the AnTuTu benchmark, flawless operation of the Android 15 interface, instant launch of applications. A minor fly in the ointment will be throttling, which, however, is almost imperceptible in real scenarios of using the device. But the energy efficiency is average, so the 4000 mAh battery will be enough for a day without a strong reserve. Fast charging is still 25W, which is disappointing. You will have to be near the outlet for more than an hour. Wireless charging is present, but also slow (15W). The permanent memory is allocated 128/256/512 GB, it cannot be expanded. The main photo modules are the main proprietary 50-megapixel GN3 sensor and a 10-megapixel 3K1 telephoto lens, equipped with hybrid stabilization, as well as a 12-megapixel wide-angle lens Sony IMX563. On the one hand, it is easy to create a detailed frame with such cameras even in the evening, on the other hand, you want more interesting and technologically advanced photo sensors from an expensive gadget. The stereo sound is loud and rich, of course, the list of advantages is not without support for contactless payments NFC, 5G networks, eSIM. However, the lack of fundamental changes compared to its predecessors and the not very affordable price tag raise doubts about whether it is necessary to purchase the device.
