It is the actual ratio of the usefulness of the device for the user and its price tag that is the determining factor in sales. And this parameter in the Teclast T50HD tablet is at the highest level.

By tradition, we will begin our review of the new product with its configuration. Here TECLAST did not reinvent the wheel. The gadget comes with a branded box made of thick cardboard, made in white and orange colors. Inside it is the TECLAST T50HD itself, a USB Type-C cable, a 10W charger, a clip for opening the SIM card tray, a warranty card and user instructions. A protective film is applied directly to the display of the device, so that scratches will not appear on the screen itself for about a year. Then, of course, it is recommended to stick a new one on or purchase protective glass. The back panel is also protected by a film, but it partially hides the beauty of the exterior from view. The absence of wired headphones does not give the set an excellent rating, but it definitely deserves “good with a plus”.

The appearance of the tablet makes a similar impression. The back panel is made of metal with a matte texture that hardly attracts fingerprints. The solution is both beautiful and practical. The block of two cameras is made in blue; it looks stylish and interesting against the background of the graphite body. Perhaps the overall impression is only slightly spoiled by the obviously unnecessary inscription “AI Dual Camera”. The modest thickness of the device adds ergonomics, and the reasonable display frames with a width of 10.5 mm are also pleasing. No backlash, creaks or other assembly problems were found. As for the functional elements, they are arranged as follows:

• top edge: microphone hole, power button, volume buttons;
• left side: speaker holes;
• right side: SIM card tray, USB Type-C port, speaker hole, headphone jack;
• bottom edge: microphone hole.

Let's move on to the quality of the installed screen. The 11-inch IPS panel does not suffer from low image clarity thanks to a resolution of 1920x1200 pixels; individual pixels are difficult to see with the naked eye. Auto-brightness works correctly, but changes in brightness levels do not always occur smoothly; sometimes there are quite noticeable jumps. This fact does not cause severe discomfort. As for the brightness reserve, it is quite good for an inexpensive IPS screen. Partial visibility of the image remains on a summer day, although for truly convenient work with the mobile assistant it is better to look for a shadow. There is no increased image refresh rate, but this shortcoming can be attributed to the price category of the device. The opponents presented in it are also deprived of an increased Hertz response, and they also do not have an oleophobic glass coating or protective film. The color rendition is quite natural, the white color fades slightly into gray shades, but this can only be noticed when directly comparing the picture with some AMOLED analogue in a phone in the middle or high price segment. As a result, the IPS display deserves a “good” rating.

Let's move on to the technical specifications. The manufacturer did not reinvent the wheel and used one of the most popular combinations in the tablet today. The UNISOC Tiger T606 processor, 6GB of RAM and the Mali G57MC1 graphics adapter are many times better than the solutions that were used in the most affordable devices a couple of years ago. The Android 14 interface is not replete with lags, not the most resource-intensive applications open in less than a second, and there is some scope for spending time in modern Android games. Let's first take a look at the results of the chipset in synthetic tests, and then in actual gaming applications.

Benchmark results:

• 282414 points in the AnTuTu 10 benchmark;
• 381 points in Geekbench 6 single-core test, 1368 points in multi-core test.

Results in games:

PUBG Mobile is the least resource-intensive game tested on the TECLAST T50HD, but the project is still one of the most popular multiplayer games. The reason for this was the fascinating and detailed gameplay, which precisely implies the highest range of space rendering. The project operates smoothly with balanced graphics settings and an average framerate; stutters are rare and occur in 99% of cases when loading new parts of the location. It is quite possible to enjoy the game.

With Tank Company the situation is a little less clear. This is a newer and significantly more resource-demanding game that tries to copy the vast majority of the mechanics from the World Of Tanks project for personal computers. Equally large-scale battles of 15 by 15 tanks, maps similar in design and size require increased processor and video accelerator performance. Here the user can only rely on minimal graphic settings and a frame rate of 20 to 30 frames. At the same time, drops in FPS do not cause severe discomfort; skillfully targeting vulnerable points of opponents is still convenient.

And finally, we have the extremely resource-intensive Genshin Impact. Even after several years, this project is the best benchmark for top processors. Huge open spaces with an abundance of small details, complex effects, detailed characters and much more make the game incredibly beautiful even outside of mobile platforms. And now the TECLAST T50HD copes with this project mediocrely. Even with minimal graphic settings, there are frequent drops in framerate, and the picture itself is soapy and pixelated. For Genshin Impact, we still recommend devices that are a couple of times more expensive than the tablet in question.

The processor used is not energy efficient, as evidenced by battery life tests. Of course, achieving the results described below would be impossible without a capacious 8000mAh battery. Let's take a look at the results.

The PCMark Work 3.0 Battery Life test showed 11 hours 1 minute of operation, this value is definitely above the average of 8-9 hours.

From a fully charged battery you can expect:

• approximately 4 hours of gameplay in Genshin Impact (battery lost 24% in an hour);
• approximately 6 hours of gameplay in Tank Company (battery lost 17% per hour);
• approximately 7 hours of gameplay in PUBG Mobile (battery lost 14% per hour);
• approximately 6-7 hours of screen time per day with active use (50% of the time - games, 50% of the time - web surfing).

But the charging speed is mediocre. The tablet will have to be at the outlet for more than five hours, since the charger power is a modest 10W.

As for the permanent memory, it is allocated 256GB, the format is EMMC 5.1. The ROM does not shine with speed, but this fact does not seriously affect performance: the processor used is still not a flagship one. One of the SIM cards can be replaced with a memory card to expand the internal storage.

The previously mentioned “AI Dual Camera” inscription does not improve the design, but it is still present on the rear panel for a reason. 13 and 0.3 megapixel photo modules are installed not only for video communication. Daytime photographs of stationary objects turn out to be quite detailed, there are minor problems with exposure, it is better to set it manually. But autofocus is fast and rarely makes mistakes. The stereo sound of TECLAST T50HD evokes positive emotions. On the one hand, the maximum volume reaches 89 dB in peaks, and on average I demonstrate a result of approximately 84 dB. On the other hand, the frequency response is relatively balanced, the sound does not irritate with an abundance of distortion. As a result, the stereo speakers perform no worse than the four in the manufacturer’s older models. I'm glad that you can connect wired headphones; the situation with wireless ones is a little less rosy. So, the tablet does not have support for AptX, LDAC, LHDC codecs, so you won’t be able to get the maximum potential from truly good TWS headphones.

Support for SIM cards allows the TECLAST T50HD tablet to partially replace a smartphone. Communication reception is equivalent to that of inexpensive phones; the interlocutor’s voice is recognizable, although not perfectly clear. There were also no complaints about the quality of the microphones. The Internet connection is stable, the transition from 4G to 2G/3G occurs approximately in the same way as with OnePlus 9RT/Realme GT2 phones. Wi-Fi reception is weaker than that of the above devices. At 5-7 meters from the router and 1-2 walls the connection is lost, you have to be closer to the signal source in order to comfortably play or surf the browser. At the same time, 2.4G works better and more stable than the 5G network.

The TECLAST T50HD tablet operates on the Android 14 operating system without any additional shells, which is rather pleasing, because such a choice from the manufacturer ensures better performance. The translation of the firmware is close to 100%, even in the menu items there are no items in English. There are Google services that function without any problems. The interface is intuitive, and thanks to the good technical characteristics of the device, the number of slowdowns is kept to a minimum. Only occasionally do they appear when switching between desktops or when scrolling large pages in the browser. Software support will most likely be provided, judging by the manufacturer's other tablets. So far, no firmware updates have arrived over the air.

Perhaps the only real drawback of the device is GPS navigation. In the GPS Tester application, the tablet finds from 5 to 10 satellites, but cannot connect to them normally. It is clearly not worth using the device as a navigator.

Also, the manufacturer did not forget to please the author of the review with special accessories for the TECLAST T50HD tablet. The Bluetooth keyboard is made of black plastic and is made quite well, although it is quite simple in terms of design. There are no backlashes or squeaks, the key travel is small, but sufficient for comfortable work, and they do not sound particularly noisy. Unfortunately, there is no Russian layout, which is disappointing. The flip case made an even more positive impression. Although the leather is not natural, it is very pleasant to the touch, the device fits confidently into the accessory, and the device will experience minor falls less painfully.
