TECLAST T60 Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
TECLAST T60 Overview
TECLAST T60 - a big success?
Tablets have not lost their relevance for more than two decades. The amazing combination of functionality, ergonomics and compactness consistently wins the hearts and wallets of millions of new buyers every year. And the products of the Chinese company Teclast occupy an impressive percentage of the number of copies sold. And new products like the hero of today’s review can increase the developer’s popularity even more. Meet the inexpensive, but extremely functional and competitive Teclast T60.

- navigation: GPS/GLONASS/Beidou/Galileo;
- Dimensions and weight: 279 x 174 x 7.7 mm (6.5 mm excluding camera unit), 558 g.
The device greets us with a white cardboard package with the brand logo. Inside it is located not only the tablet itself, but also quite a rich set of equipment:
- charger with a maximum power of 20W;
- USB cable;
- needle for opening the SIM tray;
- protective film for the display (already on the screen);
- instructions and warranty card.
Perhaps the only thing missing for an ideal set is headphones with a USB Type-C connector, but the gadget’s opponents cannot boast of such either. The quality of the accessories is high, it’s hard to find fault.
Let's move on to getting to know the Teclast T60 itself. The tablet boasts an extremely thin metal body, the thickness of which, excluding the protruding camera block, is an incredible 6.5mm. The design of the photo modules itself resembles that of the Xiaomi 12T/12T Pro smartphones, which should be considered a compliment. The frames of the huge 12-inch display are visible to the naked eye, but they are not wide. On the top edge there is a power button highlighted in red, volume buttons and two holes for microphones. On the left it is easy to find cutouts for a pair of speakers; the same ones are located on the right, but are already supplemented with a USB Type-C port and a slot for MicroSD cards. The bottom is completely empty, but there could easily be a headphone jack there. However, this is perhaps the only real drawback of the design, which can definitely be given an excellent rating.
The IPS display used also deserves a positive assessment. Firstly, the 12-inch screen allows you to not only surf the web, but also watch your favorite movies and TV series with great comfort. Secondly, a resolution of 2000x1200 pixels is quite enough for good picture clarity. Individual pixels are almost impossible to see with the naked eye. The brightness reserve is quite good for an IPS panel; the picture remains partially visible in direct sunlight, although it is recommended to find shade for comfortable work with the device. Auto-brightness is present, it functions correctly in most cases. Only sometimes do errors appear in room lighting; the brightness level is set less than necessary. You have to change it manually, but such situations rarely occur. The calibration of the color palette is not bad; it leans a little towards warm shades, making the eyes less tired when working with the mobile assistant for a long time. If desired, the user can adjust the color rendition independently in the corresponding item in the settings menu (Display - Color mode and temperature). As for the oleophobic coating, it is virtually absent on the stock protective film. But it is necessary to understand that such a defect is characteristic of literally all representatives of the price segment. There are no color distortions at different tilt angles; there is only a noticeable decrease in brightness. The touch panel is responsive and accurate; when testing in games, no defects such as phantom touches were observed. Thus, the final impression of the IPS panel is extremely positive.
The technical characteristics of the Teclast T60 are standard for the price category: the UNISOC Tiger T616 processor, 8GB of RAM and the Mali G57MC1 video accelerator. The combination is not the most productive, but it allows you to get a smooth interface of the Android 13 operating system. Microlags and freezes appear infrequently; they are usually visible when scrolling through heavy pages in the browser or when scrolling through a long list of applications in the Google Play Store. As for synthetic tests, the chipset scores:
- 294843 points in the AnTuTu 10 benchmark;
- 448 points in Geekbench 6 single-core test, 1599 points in multi-core test.
The gaming capabilities cannot be called truly impressive, but the user will definitely not be left without entertainment.
Let's start with one of the most resource-intensive games today. Its name is Genshin Impact. It’s not possible to get truly smooth gameplay on a device, but with a hybrid of minimal and low settings it’s possible to achieve a frame rate of about 20-25 frames per second. Freezes and stutters will be observed during intense battles with many enemies due to the abundance of effects, as well as when parts of locations and objects on them are loaded. As a result, you can play this project, but the pleasure will be slightly spoiled due to lags and not the most outstanding graphics due to the installed presets.
With PUBG Mobile the situation is noticeably better. The game was released somewhat earlier than Genshin Impact and does not have the same technology, but even after many years it is able to please the eye with its drawing range and good detail of characters and terrain. High graphics settings and high range are automatically set, the gameplay is quite stable, the frame rate is above 30 frames per second, rare stutters appear only when loading locations and shootouts with several people, but they cannot be considered critical.
Third on the list is Tank Company, which is much closer to a full-fledged PC version of World Of Tanks than World Of Tanks Blitz itself. This can be seen both in the scale of the battles (battles of 15 vs 15 tanks) and in the more detailed and expressive graphics. TECLAST T60 feels quite good in this project, but only with low or minimal graphics presets. The picture does not crumble into pixels, although it seriously loses its beauty. The frame rate is mostly stable, drops occur when destroying objects and shooting at tanks through bushes in sniper mode. However, the drops in the number of frames per second are not critical, and the game is generally comfortable to play.
The autonomy of the device is above average. A battery with a capacity of 8000 mAh, coupled with an energy-efficient processor, allows us to hope for the following screen time indicators:
- approximately 4 hours of gameplay in Genshin Impact (battery lost 24% in an hour);
- approximately 5.5 hours of gameplay in Tank Company (battery lost 18% per hour);
- approximately 7 hours of gameplay in PUBG Mobile (battery lost 14% per hour);
- approximately 7 hours of screen time per day with active use (50% of the time - games, 50% of the time - web surfing).
The included 20W charger charges the tablet from 0% to 100% in about three and a half hours.
The PCMarkWork 3.0 Battery Life benchmark gives a result of 12 hours 4 minutes, which also indicates decent autonomy of the device.
The sound of the built-in speakers (4 pieces) is not bad for the form factor of a thin and ergonomic tablet. The maximum volume of 89dB (up to 98dB in peaks) is a decent result, but in this case distortion is heard, and the frequency response becomes too far from ideal. For more or less comfortable listening to music, it is recommended to lower the volume by 2-3 notches and get a more pleasant sound with a volume of about 80 dB. There is no separate headphone jack, so you will have to be content with wireless analogues. Unfortunately, there is no support for LDAC and AptX codecs, so you won’t be able to get really high-quality sound from good TWS headphones. Thus, the high frequency region of Anker Soundcore Liberty 4 NC and Mifo O5 II Gen 2 in tandem with TECLAST T60 sounds noticeably simpler than with the Realme GT2 smartphone. However, it is much more difficult to notice the difference on the road or a noisy street.
The photo capabilities of the main 13 and 0.3 megapixel photo modules are far from ideal, but they can still be used for daytime photography. Detailing is at an average level, distant objects are sometimes blurred, but such situations are not frequent. The color rendition is correct, the white balance is sometimes wrong, and the exposure sometimes has to be lowered. However, for an inexpensive tablet, the level of photography is more than good; many opponents of the tablet are not capable of such shots.
With GPS, the situation is common for devices based on UNISOC Tiger chipsets. Yandex.Maps behaved stably, no problems were noticed during testing, the results of the GPS Tester program are not record-breaking, but not bad, the device can be used as a GPS navigator.
TECLAST T60 supports SIM cards, which significantly expands its functionality and increases its attractiveness for the end user. Communication reception is not inferior to that of smartphones in the mid-price segment (Realme GT2, OnePlus 9RT), which can be regarded as a compliment to the tablet. The Internet connection also does not raise any questions, the change from 4G to 3G/2G occurred infrequently, data loading is quite stable. With Wi-Fi the situation is slightly worse. After 2 walls and 5-7 meters from the signal source, the connection was mediocre, sometimes the ping reached 500+ ms. While this situation has virtually no effect on watching videos, gameplay in online games noticeably deteriorates. Thus, it is recommended to play in relative proximity to the router.
The TECLAST T60 tablet operates on the Android 13 operating system without any additional shells. The translation of the firmware is close to 100%, there are Google services that function without any problems. The interface is intuitive, and thanks to the good technical characteristics of the device, the number of slowdowns is kept to a minimum. Only occasionally do they appear when switching between desktops or when scrolling large pages in the browser. Software support from the developer is provided; during use, an update arrived that increases the stability of the device.
Let's summarize and take a look at the main advantages and disadvantages of the model.
Pros:
- a pleasant-to-touch metal body with a stylish design;
- good equipment of the tablet;
- excellent 12-inch high-resolution IPS display with good brightness;
- energy-efficient UNISOC Tiger T616 processor and 8GB of RAM, coping with most tasks;
- loud stereo sound (4 speakers, average volume 85dB+);
- 256GB of ROM with expandability;
- support for two SIM cards;
- excellent communication reception;
- no problems with GPS navigation;
- good main and front cameras;
- an 8000mAh battery provides about one and a half days of operation with the device;
- reasonable price.
Cons:
- no headphone jack, support for new codecs for wireless headphones;
- The charging power is still low, the manufacturer is not yet thinking of increasing it in its products;
- Wi-Fi is not the best (perhaps a problem with a specific instance).
Thus, TECLAST T60 is suitable for people who want an inexpensive, beautiful and functional tablet with a really large display.
