Tecno Camon 50 Pro 4G Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Tecno Camon 50 Pro 4G Overview
Tecno Camon 50 Pro 4G - Minor but Useful Improvements
In the vast majority of cases, Pro versions of smartphones are significantly different from their "standard" versions, offering significant design and technical refinements. However, the Chinese company Tecno has decided to take a different approach. It seems that the subject of today's review hasn't undergone any changes compared to its cheaper sibling, but that's not entirely true.
The new model's appearance has been slightly modified, noticeable by the rounded edges of the 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a built-in fingerprint scanner. However, the case texture, color options, placement of the photo modules, and overall ergonomics are already familiar to fans of the brand. IP68 water resistance remains. The AMOLED display still impresses with crisp content at a 2644x1208 pixel resolution, a respectable peak brightness of 2000 nits, minimal color errors, and a flagship 144 Hz refresh rate. There's also an oleophobic coating, albeit not very effective.
The MediaTek Helio G200 processor, 8 GB of RAM, and Mali G57-MC2 graphics accelerator aren't exactly the combination one would expect to see in a mobile assistant that's no longer the most affordable. While the Android 16 interface still manages to handle the chipset without significant lag, gamers certainly won't be impressed by the CPU performance. For more or less resource-intensive new games, you'll need to set graphics settings to low to avoid severe stuttering. Battery life is excellent. The 6150mAh battery is enough for a couple of days of use, and 45W fast charging is included. 256GB of storage is available, and there's no microSD card slot.
But where there's progress is in the photography department. Yes, the basic 8-megapixel wide-angle lens is still there, as is the main 50-megapixel Sony LYT-700C camera module with OIS, but they're complemented by a full-fledged 50MP telephoto lens with hybrid stabilization and 3x optical zoom. The camera's capabilities have now expanded significantly. The stereo speakers haven't improved in volume or sound, and the list of other features still includes support for NFC contactless payments and an IR port for controlling home appliances. Thus, the device in question is more suitable for those who enjoy high-quality photos, while for other buyers, the extra cost for the Pro version will not be so relevant.
