UMIDIGI A15C Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
UMIDIGI A15C Overview
UMIDIGI A15C - sometimes it's better not to save
The Chinese company Umidigi has long been practicing the release of several modifications of one smartphone at once, but their relevance is not always the same. So, in the case of a series of phones called A15, its younger representative is significantly inferior to the older one in almost all respects. And a small difference in price is not able to compensate for such differences.
In terms of design, the novelty is no different from its predecessor, which is definitely worth writing down in its merits. Within the cost category, the thick lower bezel of the display cannot be considered a disadvantage; the exterior is greatly transformed by a stylish triple camera, a side fingerprint sensor, and a variety of color schemes for cases. IPS-screen with a diagonal of 6.7 inches is still characterized by a resolution of 1650x720 pixels, picture clarity is low. However, there are no problems with brightness, contrast and color reproduction, so the overall impression of the IPS panel is positive.
Specifications are provided by UNISOC Tiger T606 CPU, 8GB of RAM and Mali G57MC1 video adapter. The performance loss compared to the previously used T616 was about 15%. If Android 13 is still smooth and launches apps in a fraction of a second, then the gaming experience has become slightly worse. So, you won’t be able to get stable gameplay in Genshin Impact, because unpleasant friezes are felt even with minimal graphic presets. The size of the permanent memory is reduced to 128GB, however, problems with internal storage are unlikely to appear if there is a slot for microSD cards. The battery capacity has not changed either, 5000mAh is still enough for 9-10 hours of active screen time, but the 10W charging power is frankly frustrating.
The photo capabilities of the main 48-, 8- and 2-megapixel modules are noticeably simpler. This fact is especially noticeable when shooting in the evening. Detail is lower, there is more noise, blurry objects and incorrect color reproduction are more often companions of night shots. The only speaker responsible for the sound is the volume of which is enough not to miss an important call. There is no need to talk about enjoyment when listening to music. NFC contactless payments have not been removed, so paying for purchases in supermarkets is more convenient than ever. As a result, the gadget can hardly be considered an unsuccessful model, however, a slight additional payment for a more interesting device calls into question the expediency of acquiring it.
