The desire of the Chinese Umidigi company to keep up with competitors and almost every quarter to demonstrate the addition of popular smartphone lines, however, the quality level of devices is not always amazing. So, the hero of today's review is not happy with the price tag, and in terms of functionality it almost does not differ from the more affordable predecessor.

The design of the novelty is quite standard for secure phones in the price segment. The large dimensions of the rubberized case negatively affect ergonomics, but they greatly increase the stability of the phablet against falls, as well as dust, sand and moisture. Less criticism will be in the direction of the triple camera unit located on the side of the fingerprint sensor, the matte texture of the back panel. The 6.5-inch IPS display has noticeable bezels, but will please with a 24-megapixel selfie camera at the top. The output picture does not disappoint with clarity at FullHD + resolution and smoothness at 90 Hz refresh rate, which cannot be said about brightness and contrast. It is in these parameters that the budget component of the IPS panel is manifested.

Specifications are rather weak for a device that strives for the medium-high cost category. The MediaTek Helio P90 CPU is far from being a gaming CPU, because even with 8GB of RAM and a PowerVE GE9446 video adapter, it does not cope well with high-tech games. In the famous resource-intensive Fortnite, the gameplay will be spoiled by lags even at low graphic presets. The energy efficiency of not the latest chipset is average, but excellent autonomy is still achieved by a 6150mAh battery. 10 hours of active screen time with such a battery will be a reality, but at the outlet you need to spend up to 200 minutes due to a modest 18W charging. But the manufacturer decided to allocate the internal storage with a margin. 256GB of ROM, coupled with a microSD card slot, will definitely be enough for everyone.

Unfortunately, these words will not be related to the photo capabilities of simple 48-, 16- and 5-megapixel photomodules. Mediocre lenses, lack of software optimization and optical stabilization reduce the list of shooting scenarios exclusively to daytime shots. It is almost impossible to get at least good detail in a photo in the evening and natural color reproduction without noise. The mono speaker is also not impressive with its loudness and balanced frequency response. Fortunately, the gadget contains NFC contactless payments; without them, the device could be safely bypassed. And so before us is simply another ordinary IP68 smartphone without interesting competitive advantages.
