UMIDIGI F3 SE - simplified but not useless

The third generation of F-line smartphones from the Chinese company Umidigi turned out to be quite balanced and competitive for the price category. However, the developer decided to add to the series a representative of the lower cost segment, made on the basis of their more expensive counterparts. What exactly did the manufacturer have to sacrifice to maintain the attractiveness of the device?

The appearance of the gadget has actually remained the same, which can only be taken as praise. The number of photomodules in the camera unit has decreased to two, but the rich colors of ergonomic cases, the convenience of a side fingerprint scanner and the beauty of the narrow display frames are also in place. The 6.7-inch IPS screen now causes less complaints due to the clarity of the image at a resolution of 1650x720 pixels, the brightness and contrast of the picture are higher than those of many opponents of the phablet. The reduced amount of RAM has little effect on the performance of Android 11 and the speed of launching applications, games like PUBG and Call Of Duty Mobile function smoothly with not the most minimal graphic presets. But Genshin Impact and Fortnite are recommended to be left for more powerful devices. 64 / 128GB of ROM, a slot for MicroSD cards together minimize the possible lack of space for storing information, while a 5150mAh battery guarantees about a day and a half of active operation. Cameras are noticeably simpler in their capabilities, but the 8-megapixel wide-angle sensor is not removed and supports the main 16-megapixel module. Daytime shots, although not replete with details, have correct color reproduction and leave a generally positive impression. Evening and night photos are more likely to disappoint with a huge number of noises. There was no stereo sound in the older phones of the line, but the loss of NFC contactless payments is already a tangible simplification. However, the combination of the previously mentioned advantages still allows us to recommend the device for purchase.
