UMIDIGI G100 Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
UMIDIGI G100 Overview
UMIDIGI G100 - a beautiful loser?
It is difficult to consider the Chinese company Umidigi as a leader in the smartphone market. The year 2024 will not be very successful for the manufacturer either. The number of truly interesting and competitive phones can be counted on the fingers of one hand. The hero of today's review does not change the situation. It definitely attracts with its design, but it has few competitive advantages.
As mentioned above, the exterior of the new product turned out to be quite attractive. Four original colors of cases made of high-quality plastic, a modern round block of three photo modules, a side fingerprint sensor, thin screen frames allow us to evaluate the appearance of the phablet as an excellent grade. The 6.9-inch IPS display is also not bad. It has a decent FullHD+ resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. It is a pity that the clear and smooth image lacks some brightness. With its maximum value of 600 nits, only partial visibility is preserved in direct sunlight. It is not very comfortable to work with the device in such lighting conditions.
The technical characteristics include the new UNISOC Tiger T615 processor, 8 GB of RAM and the Mali G57MC1 video accelerator. The chip is a slightly simplified modification of the T619, so we get a familiar performance level of 250 thousand points in the AnTuTu test. If the Android 14 interface has enough of such achievements for responsiveness, then games are more complicated. Not the most resource-intensive projects like Call Of Duty Mobile function stably, but the demanding Genshin Impact will disappoint with lags even with minimal graphics settings. A lot of permanent memory is allocated (256 GB), but a slot for MicroSD cards is also left. Autonomy is the strong point of the unit, with a 6000 mAh battery you can count on 9-10 hours of active screen time. But the charging power was a ridiculous 10W.
The 50- and 2-megapixel cameras are mediocre. Daytime shots come out well with a probability of 50%, they are spoiled by either overexposure, or noise, or blurred objects. There is no stereo sound, the only speaker produces a not very balanced sound, and the volume is average. But there are contactless NFC payments, important for frequent visitors to supermarkets. Thus, before us is a standard representative of the price category, which has dozens of alternatives, sometimes with better photo capabilities, gaming capabilities.
