UMIDIGI G100 Pro Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
UMIDIGI G100 Pro Overview
UMIDIGI G100 Pro - a large, but weak in all respects smartphone
The Chinese company UMIDIGI appears less and less in the media headlines, and the discussion of the phones it released on forums is no longer so large-scale. The reason for this is both the reduced budget for marketing campaigns and the largely controversial products of the developer. Unfortunately, the hero of today's review is also far from the most competitive in its price segment.
The appearance of the new product can be slightly upset only by the outdated design of the 16MP selfie camera. The colors of the monoblocks are stylish, the photo module block is extremely modern and beautiful, there is an ergonomic side fingerprint scanner and relatively thin screen frames. The IPS display is mediocre. With an impressive 6.9-inch diagonal, we have a ridiculous HD+ resolution, which is not enough for good clarity of the displayed image. The brightness reserve is also insignificant, 500 nits is still not enough to work with the device in direct sunlight. The only good news is the 120 Hz refresh rate and more or less natural color rendition.
The technical specifications are different when compared to the version without the Pro index, but in reality, the performance of the MediaTek Helio G81 CPU is about the same as that of the previously used UNISOC. Together with 8 GB of RAM and the Mali G52MC2 video adapter, the chipset gives about 250 thousand AnTuTu points. The Android 15 interface is not without lags, but they are infrequent, but the gaming capabilities are far from outstanding. Only not very resource-intensive 3D games like PUBG Mobile function without lags. The battery capacity is 6000 mAh, so the autonomy can and even should be praised. The battery usually provides more than 9-10 hours of active screen time. The charger has a power of 20W, so it still cannot be called fast. The permanent memory is 256 GB, there is a slot for MicroSD cards.
Let's talk about photo capabilities. You can immediately forget about the existence of auxiliary cameras. A pair of 2-megapixel sensors (depth sensor and macro module) are practically useless and are installed just for beauty. The main 50-megapixel module without optical stabilization is suitable for daytime shooting of stationary objects. The complexity of photo shoot scenarios leads to numerous noises, an abundance of blurry details. There is no stereo sound, but this is rather the norm for the price category. But there are contactless NFC payments, simplifying the process of paying for purchases in hypermarkets. As a result, for the price of the gadget, it is easy to find more technologically advanced, productive and functional alternatives, which will negatively affect its possible sales.
