UMIDIGI G5 Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
UMIDIGI G5 Overview
UMIDIGI G5 - boring but relevant
The low-price segment of the smartphone market has undergone major changes over the past year. In many ways, they are associated with the use of more efficient processors and high-quality photomodules. However, sophisticated audiences demand more as time goes by. Unfortunately, the hero of today's review simply does not differ from his classmates.
The appearance of the novelty is pleasing to the eye, but it has a number of obvious shortcomings typical of inexpensive phones. On one side of the scale there are beautiful colors of the back panels, a convenient side fingerprint scanner, a modern dual camera unit, on the other - a wide lower display frame, an outdated design of an 8-megapixel front photomodule. Even more mixed emotions cause applied IPS-display. A modest resolution of 1612x720 pixels with a large diagonal, not the most impressive margin of brightness is unlikely to please the buyer. The 90-Hz image refresh rate and correct color reproduction are trying to correct the situation.
Specifications are presented by UNISOC Tiger T606 CPU, 8GB of RAM and Mali G57MC1 video core, popular in the price category. Of course, the performance provided by the bundle is not enough for any task, however, the Android 13 interface is noticeably smoother than with previously used chips from MediaTek (Helio G35 / 37, A22 and others). Applications launch faster, gaming opportunities are wider. Low-resource-hungry titles like PUBG Mobile work great at low-medium graphics presets, but titles like Genshin Impact only start to show problems. The amount of internal memory has reached immodest 128GB, while they can be expanded with MicroSD cards.
The 50-megapixel Samsung JN1 sensor and 2-megapixel depth sensor will not open the user to the world of high-quality photography, but they can easily cope with shooting documents, static objects in the daytime. Of course, a fairly cheap device did not get stereo sound. One speaker, coupled with a strong vibration motor, will not allow you to miss a call, but listening to your favorite music is out of the question. What's really disappointing is the lack of NFC contactless payments. Thus, the gadget turned out to be imperfect, but balanced and generally competitive. However, he fails to really stand out from his rivals.
