UMIDIGI G5A Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
UMIDIGI G5A Overview
UMIDIGI G5A - excessive savings on performance
The processor is one of the most important components of any smartphone, because its power is necessary not only for games, but also for smooth reproduction of the operating system interface, quick launch of applications, smooth web surfing and other processes. Even phones in the lower price segment today can please you with not the worst chipsets. Unfortunately, the hero of today's review will not be one of them.
The appearance of the new product is very good within the price category. There are a variety of body colors, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a modern dual-camera design, and fairly thin screen frames. The display itself does not cause negative emotions. Although it lacks image clarity slightly with a diagonal of 6.52 inches and a resolution of 1600x720 pixels, the picture does not break up into individual pixels, and the brightness level is more than decent for the technology used.
But with technical characteristics the situation is much worse. The outdated MediaTek Helio A22 CPU, even with 4GB of RAM, gives in to the resource-intensive Android 13. Lags and freezes will become frequent companions when working with the device. The gaming capabilities are very modest; you can only run 2D projects or titles with relatively simple 3D graphics (World Of Tanks Blitz) at a more or less comfortable frame rate, and even then with minimal graphic settings. The chip is not distinguished by outstanding energy efficiency, but ensuring good autonomy becomes a reality thanks to the 5000 mAh battery. It needs to be charged once every one and a half to two days. The charging power was 10W, so staying at the outlet can last for a long time. The volume of permanent memory is 64GB with a hybrid slot for MicroSD cards.
The 13- and 2-megapixel photo modules are equipped with autofocus and LED flash, so they cannot be considered completely useless. But even daytime shots don’t always turn out great. Even slight dynamics of events or more difficult lighting conditions will lead to blur, noise, and problems with dynamic range. You don’t have to look for stereo sound or NFC contactless payments in the phablet, because they simply don’t exist. Thus, we have before us a very controversial device, the purchase of which is not at all mandatory.
