UMIDIGI G6 5G Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
UMIDIGI G6 5G Overview
UMIDIGI G6 5G - crazy and not entirely necessary functionality
In pursuit of consumers, smartphone manufacturers sometimes do strange things. Thus, even experienced developers often introduce unusual features into their products that are not easy to consider as competitive advantages. A similar situation happened to the hero of today’s review.
I don’t want to find fault with the appearance of the new product, because the inexpensive device pleases with an island of selfie cameras reminiscent of that of the Apple iPhone, and a side fingerprint scanner, and a stylish camera unit. The frames of the 6.57-inch IPS display are also not wide. But the picture it displays is unlikely to receive exclusively positive reviews. The problem is the low HD+ resolution, due to which individual pixels are visible to the naked eye and small fonts appear blurry. With the smoothness of the image, the situation is much more interesting (the refresh rate is 90 hertz), and the color rendition and brightness level (600 nits) are not bad for the price category.
Technical characteristics are presented by the latest MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ CPU, 6GB of RAM, Mali G57MC2 video adapter. In addition to supporting 5G networks, the chipset offers performance of 400 thousand points in the AnTuTu benchmark, which is enough for most games. Of course, the most resource-intensive hits will have a more or less stable frame rate only with minimal graphic presets, but we are not dealing with a flagship device. Energy efficiency does not disappoint; the 5000mAh battery lasts for one and a half to two days. But the charging power could be higher than a modest 10W. You will have to stay at the outlet for a really long time. Today, 128GB of ROM may not be enough for the user, so the presence of a hybrid slot for MicroSD cards is definitely a plus.
It's not easy when it comes to photo opportunities. Auxiliary night vision modules are installed on both sides of the gadget. The thing is extremely specific; it will be used especially rarely to take selfies. True, face unlocking with such a photomodule occurs without errors. The main 50-megapixel sensor on the rear panel copes with daytime shooting of static objects, but due to the lack of optical stabilization, other photo shoot scenarios will be mediocre to it. There is no stereo sound, which is not surprising for an affordable unit, but there is a jack for wired headphones. NFC contactless payments are available. The final impression of the phablet cannot be called negative, because it is no worse than many opponents. However, it would be better for him to stand out with something more serious than monochrome photosensors.
