UMIDIGI Note 100 5G Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
UMIDIGI Note 100 5G Overview
UMIDIGI Note 100 5G - a sure failure?
The Chinese company UMIDIGI is trying its best to diversify the range of smartphones it sells, but the desire to expand the quantity does not always lead to quality. Thus, some phones cause only bewilderment due to unbalanced technical characteristics. The hero of today's review has become such a device.
The appearance of the new product is not bad, but quite standard for the price segment. The inexpensive, easily soiled plastic of the case is clearly noticeable, but a beautiful block of photo modules, current colors of the rear panels, a fingerprint scanner located on the side edge and small frames (except for the bottom) of the screen try to distract from it. Unfortunately, there are many complaints about the display. It has impressive image smoothness at a refresh rate of 120 Hz, and the color rendering is natural, but everything is spoiled by a mediocre resolution of 1600x720 pixels for a 6.8-inch diagonal, and a brightness reserve of only 600 nits. Working with the device in direct sunlight is problematic.
There is nothing to complain about in terms of performance thanks to the UNISOC T765 processor, 6 GB / 8 GB of RAM and the Mali G57MC2 video accelerator. The chipset is almost identical to the recent MediaTek Dimensity 6300, so you can count on support for 5G networks and 350-400 thousand points in the AnTuTu benchmark. The most resource-intensive games run on the phablet, but not without compromises. Thus, the graphics settings need to be kept near the minimum to maintain the stability of the gameplay. The CPU energy efficiency is decent, the 5000 mAh battery will require searching for a socket once every one and a half to two days. But they saved on the charging power, because it was only 20W. The permanent memory is 128/256 GB, which can always be expanded with MicroSD cards.
The photographic capabilities of the main 50-megapixel module and 2-megapixel auxiliary sensors are not considered wide. Deterioration of lighting conditions leads to the appearance of numerous noises, a drop in detail and blurring of small objects. You can only hope for high-quality shots during the day. The cameras are also suitable for video calls and document capture. There is no stereo sound in the device, as well as a separate headphone output. But the really critical drawback will be the lack of contactless NFC payments. Thus, we got a very compromise device, which has many more interesting opponents.
