UMIDIGI Power 7S - is it what do buyers need?

Surprisingly, sometimes simplified versions of a popular smartphone become even better than their predecessors in terms of price and quality. A similar situation has developed with the hero of today's review. Its price tag has become noticeably more democratic while maintaining many of the advantages of older brothers.

The appearance of the novelty is 99% identical to that of the previous model. Of the noticeable changes, only the loss of the third module by the camera block catches the eye, and the rest is a stylish monoblock with bright colors, a convenient side fingerprint sensor and reasonable screen bezels. I don’t want to scold the budget 6.7-inch IPS panel for its low resolution of 1650x720 pixels, because most of the opponents have the same lack of displays. But the IPS-screen tries to atone for shortcomings with brightness and contrast, which is almost enough in direct sunlight.

Technical characteristics, although they have undergone simplification, have not lost the performance. The UNISOC Tiger T310 CPU, 4GB of RAM and the PowerVR GE8300 video adapter do their best so that the user of even such an inexpensive phablet does not notice the lag of Android 11 OS, the thoughtfulness of applications at startup. The gaming capabilities of the chipset are slightly higher than the basic ones, you can comfortably play even rather resource-intensive projects like Call Of Duty Mobile. The issue of autonomy is resolved through the use of a 6150mAh battery. Issued on average 10-11 hours of active screen time will be enough for most of the audience. It is sad that there is no really fast charging... But 64GB of ROM and a slot for microSD cards make the problem of lack of memory of little relevance.

The main 16-megapixel photomodule is complemented by an 8-megapixel wide-angle sensor, which is rare for a low price segment. And although it is almost impossible to get high-quality evening photos with the cameras used, daytime shots are often characterized by good detail and color reproduction. But the videos will lack stabilization. The device is ready to boast a separate headphone jack, but there is no stereo sound. There are also no NFC contactless payments to reduce the cost of an Android smartphone. But minor drawbacks do not spoil the portrait of an up-to-date and balanced device at an excellent price.
