UMIDIGI S - who said Meizu?!

The Chinese company Umidigi is able to create beautiful, memorable smartphones, but its latest models resemble the products of a famous competitor with the letter "M". But developers in every way deny the similarity and believe that the hero of today's review will surpass, if not all of its rivals, then the overwhelming majority of them. Is it real?

Not in all aspects. Both externally and technically the novelty repeats more eminent opponents in the price category, that is unlikely to allow it to become an international hit. The thin full-metal body, even supplemented by a fingerprint scanner, curved glass of a 5.5-inches FullHD-screen and an original dual camera, will no longer be a revelation today. However, it is impossible not to recognize the fact that the phablet will attract attention of people around. The display is created by the OGS-technology and pleases the eye with rich, bright colors, excellent contrast. But it is still far away from the flagship image quality.

A decent performance is provided by the Mediatek MT6757 processor, combined with a 4GB RAM and a MaliT880MP2 video adapter. This year it is enough for any demanding game, but there is no reserve for the future. But as a video and audio player, the gadget will always be relevant, because 64GB of ROM can be expanded with microSD cards.

13 and 5-megapixel rear photomodules can easily cope with dynamic objects, and mediocre lighting does not prevent them from getting a clear, detailed snapshot. The front camera in 5 megapixels tries to keep up with the "older brother", so selfie also will not upset the buyer. The autonomy of the gadget is not bad, but it's not record. A battery at 4000mAh guarantees approximately 6 hours of active screen time. A dessert in the form of 4G, OTG, Android Nougat, support for quick charging allows us to call the device balanced and appropriate to a price, but it is hardly possible to write down a gadget to the list of potential bestsellers.
