UMIDIGI F3 Pro Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
UMiDIGI F3 Pro Overview
UMiDIGI F3 Pro is not a flagship at all
Not every smartphone manufacturer has the budget necessary to create a full-fledged smartphone of the highest price category. So, the Chinese company Umidigi simply does not have the necessary amount of money for wholesale purchases of the best components, but its desire to create a top-end Android phone does not decrease from this. As a result, we get a kind of device like the hero of today's review.
The appearance of the novelty is not bad, but it has a number of disadvantages that are critical for the value segment. The main one is the outdated design of the 16 megapixel selfie camera and the plastic case. The developer tried to divert attention from such shortcomings of the exterior due to a frameless screen, a side fingerprint sensor, and a well-thought-out camera unit. The 6.58-inch display was created using IPS technology, it is difficult to rank it among the strengths of the gadget. There is no increased refresh rate of the picture, the margin of brightness is small by the standards of analogues at a similar price. Only FullHD + resolution and close to natural color rendering are pleasing.
Performance specs aren't great, with the MediaTek Dimensity 700 CPU found in more affordable alternatives. If, together with 8GB of RAM and the Mali G57-MC2 graphics core, the chipset adequately copes with rendering the Android 12 interface, launching non-resource-intensive applications, then its gaming abilities are rather limited. Of course, you can play even the most beautiful Genshin Impact and Undecember, but the graphics presets will have to be set to the minimum values in order to avoid lags. The advantages of the processor are support for 5G networks and energy efficiency, which gives an impressive autonomy from a 6150 mAh battery, reaching ten hours of active screen time. You can praise the size of the internal storage, which is not only brought up to 256GB, but also expandable with MicroSD cards.
With the photo capabilities of the main cameras, the situation is unimportant. Three photomodules are headed by not the most relevant Sony IMX582 sensor without optical stabilization, which significantly affects the quality of evening shots and shots taken in poor light. Noises come to the fore, small details disappear from the photos. There is no stereo sound, but for music lovers there is at least a separate headphone jack. NFC contactless payments will make life easier for many users, but they, even in combination with the previously cited advantages of the model, are not able to make it truly competitive. There are too many controversial points in the device.
