UMIDIGI Power 5 Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
UMiDIGI Power 5 Overview
UMiDIGI Power 5 - further we go, worse it becomes?
The line of long-playing Power-smartphones of the Chinese company Umidigi is far from the most ambitious and successful, but its representatives still enjoyed success with the fans of the brand. For almost a year, the developer forgot about the series and only now thought about its resurrection. Unfortunately, the hero of today's review turned out to be not as interesting and relevant as the fans of the corporation expected, and he is significantly inferior to his predecessor.
The appearance of the gadget is not the strongest point. The bezels of the screen are wide, the selfie camera has an outdated design, there is no fingerprint scanner, only the original texture of the back panel and a beautiful camera unit do not allow the exterior to cause exclusively despondency and sadness. The 6.53-inchOGS panel is also far from ideal. The manufacturer decided to save on its resolution, which is why we see rather loose fonts at 1600 x 720 pixels. The situation is partially corrected by good levels of brightness and contrast. As a result, the displayed image can hardly be considered bad, but it will not bring much joy.
Specifications have been simplified. Although the Mediatek HelioG25 processor, together with 3GB / 4GB ofRAM and the PowerVR GE8320 video accelerator, is characterized by excellent energy efficiency, it has problems with performance. The slowdowns of the Android 11 interface are noticeable to the naked eye, the launch of applications is delayed. It is difficult to recommend the CPU and gamers, because resource-intensive projects like Genshin Impact are unplayable even with minimal graphics presets. But a huge 6150mAh battery will provide up to three days of active interaction with the gadget. But was the autonomy worth the modest gaming power? The question remains open. Internal storage allocated 64 / 128GB with a slot for MicroSD cards .
Photographic capabilities are standard for the price segment. 16- and 0.3-megapixel (pair) photosensors are able to make a high-quality daytime frame with static objects and not very shaking hands of the photographer; in other scenarios, the pictures will be spoiled either by smears, or noise, or a low dynamic range. Need NFC contactless payments? Then you are definitely not for the gadget in question. Thus, there is almost nothing to praise the device for, it has too many more functional, attractive and balanced opponents.
