Ulefone Armor 28 Ultra Thermal Version Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Ulefone Armor 28 Ultra Thermal Version Overview
Ulefone Armor 28 Ultra Thermal Version - something fantastic
Rugged smartphones with increased durability from not the largest Chinese companies rarely please users with real flagship phones. It is not so easy to buy full-fledged top processors and photo modules in large quantities, unless you are Xiaomi, Realme or another A-brand. However, the Ulefone corporation still managed to do this and create a truly technological and interesting device.
The appearance of the new product with moisture protection according to IP68 standards is not bad, but it cannot be considered its strong point. The main problems of the phablet are the excessive dimensions of the case and its impressive weight, leading to mediocre ergonomics. The manufacturer tried to mask the shortcomings with a beautiful texture of the rubberized rear panel, a side fingerprint scanner, an extremely original combination of a camera block and an additional 1.04-inch AMOLED screen, which is necessary for displaying notifications, helping with photography and launching mini-applications. The 6.67-inch AMOLED panel will be awarded a good rating due to a reasonable resolution of 2400x1080 pixels for a diagonal, smoothness of the picture at a 120-Hz refresh rate, realistic color rendition and not the most modest brightness reserve of 2200 nits.
What is really surprising is the previously unseen technical characteristics in the segment. The most powerful MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ CPU together with 16 GB of RAM and the Mali Immortalis G720-MC12 video accelerator leave no chance for games to slow down. Even the extremely resource-intensive Fortnite functions at the highest graphics settings and a frame rate of 60 or more frames per second. The thickness of the monoblock allowed it to accommodate a high-quality cooling system, so throttling is minimal. There is no question about autonomy, because a 10600 mAh battery is used. You can count on three days of work with a mobile assistant, while the power of both wired (120 W) and wireless (50 W) charging is impressive. The size of the permanent memory has reached one terabyte, while the slot for MicroSD cards has been preserved. There is also a headphone jack, which today seems almost fantastic.
The situation with photographic capabilities is a little less clear. The main 50-megapixel Sony IMX989 sensor is huge and ready to cope even with evening shooting, but for some reason it was deprived of optical stabilization. As a result, the full potential is not revealed, noise is sometimes visible in the photo. There is also a 50MP wide-angle sensor, a 64MP black and white night vision module, and even a thermal imager, which turns the gadget into a professional working tool. A number of advantages are complemented by NFC contactless payment, 5G network support, and stereo speakers. And it seems that the considerable price tag will not be an obstacle to the success of the device, because it has almost no opponents.
