Ulefone Armor Pad Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Ulefone Armor Pad Overview
Ulefone Armor Pad - durable, long-lasting, but slow
Tablets protected from dust and moisture are still rare in today's mobile electronics market. That is why the release of such a device from the Chinese company Ulefone has become interesting for many fans of the brand. Unfortunately, the novelty came out not as balanced as we would like.
The first claims arise already to the design. If the rear panel pleases with an attractive carbon texture, harmonious rubberized inserts and a well-designed appearance of a dual camera, then a display with very large frames awaits us at the front. It seriously spoils the impression of the exterior, which neither the side fingerprint sensor nor the stylized metal edging of the case can fix. The 8-inch IPS display is also not one of the strengths of the device. The resolution of 1280x800 pixels is low for the applied diagonal, and there is no need to talk about the increased clarity of the picture. The margin of brightness is also far from being a flagship one; you can comfortably use the IPS screen only indoors.
Probably the most critical drawback lies in the modest performance of technical specifications. MediaTek Helio A22 CPU, 4GB of RAM and PowerVR GE8320 GPU is clearly not the bundle that buyers would like to see in 2023. Android 12 is played with visible lag, messengers, browsers and similar applications start with some delay. The gaming capabilities of the chip are limited, and noticeably. If the undemanding World Of Tanks Blitz and PUBG can still be considered workable with minimal graphics presets, then Genshin Impact is a slideshow. Fortunately, the processor also has advantages. Its energy efficiency is very good, so a 7650 mAh battery can really count on a dozen hours of active screen time. 64GB of ROM may not be enough today, given the abundance of content on Instagram, Telegram and other social networks, but there is the possibility of expanding the internal memory with MicroSD cards.
The main 13 and 0.3-megapixel photomodules are worthy for the price category and the type of gadgets in question. Thanks to autofocus and LED flash, there is a high chance of getting sharp photos of documents, daytime landscapes and portraits. For more complex scenarios, sensors, of course, are not suitable. The frequency response of the stereo sound is not very smooth, but the volume indicator is really high. Support for two SIM cards, as well as GPS and GLONASS, can serve as another factor for buying a device. However, it is unlikely that all these advantages will be able to distract from the imperfection of the appearance of the unit and its outdated chipset.
