Ulefone Power Armor X12 Pro Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Ulefone Armor X12 Pro Overview
Ulefone Armor X12 Pro - compromise durability
The segment of low-cost smartphones with moisture protection according to IP68 standards is developing by leaps and bounds. If 2-3 years ago it consisted of several phones with very controversial parameters, then we have quite functional devices ready to be reliable mobile assistants. However, the desire of developers to reduce costs still leads to a number of visible shortcomings in such devices. The hero of today's review did not escape them either.
They tried to create an attractive appearance of the novelty, but it has a lot of shortcomings. Huge display frames, mediocre monoblock ergonomics, lack of a fingerprint sensor and other problems are difficult to recoup with a beautiful back panel texture. Savings are also visible in the quality of the picture displayed by the IPS screen. If the resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels is quite sufficient for a diagonal of 5.45 inches, then the brightness margin is not always enough. In direct sunlight, the image loses the lion's share of its visibility.
The technical characteristics are the eight-core MediaTek Helio G36 processor, 4GB of RAM, PowerVR GE8320 video core. The bundle is inefficient by today's standards, but they are all capable of coping with the Android 13 interface. Sometimes you can notice jerking and thoughtfulness when launching applications, but they are also present in most opponents of the device. Demanding extensive gaming capabilities from a low-budget chipset is not worth it. Not the most demanding PUBG Mobile and Call Of Duty will be playable with minimal graphics presets, but no more. The size of the permanent memory of 64GB is unlikely to suit a modern user who uses several browsers and instant messengers, so the use of a MicroSD card is strongly recommended. The 4860mAh battery offers about 9-10 hours of active screen time, but charges slowly (charging power is 10W).
The main 13-megapixel photo module is equipped with autofocus and LED flash, so it can be used for simple shooting scenarios. Capturing a document is not difficult, but daytime artistic photography will require some skill due to the narrow dynamic range and the sensor's love to blur moving objects. The front camera is fine for video calls, but not high-quality social media selfies. Of the pleasant bonuses, we note the presence of NFC contactless payment. As a result, the gadget is worthy of praise, but a more productive CPU would make it much more interesting.
