Ulefone Armor X16 Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Ulefone Armor X16 Overview
Ulefone Armor X16 - an ordinary rugged smartphone?
The Chinese company Ulefone continues to be one of the most famous manufacturers of phones with water protection according to IP68 standards. Every year, the corporation releases dozens of models in all price segments, including the low one. Such devices cannot amaze the imagination with technical characteristics, but with talent and desire, an experienced developer is able to make such devices attractive to the audience. But is the hero of today's review such? Let's figure it out.
The appearance of the new product pleases with a number of interesting solutions. This is an innovative camera block with two powerful flashes, and an original case texture, and a side fingerprint scanner, and a current design of a 16-megapixel selfie camera. On the upper edge there is a jack for wired headphones, and an IR port for controlling household appliances. Unfortunately, it was not without excessive dimensions and weight of the gadget, which is why ergonomics tend to zero. The 6.56-inch IPS display is generally mediocre. It can be praised for the smoothness of the image at a refresh rate of 90 Hz, but the clarity of the image is poor at a resolution of 1640 x 720 pixels, and the maximum brightness of 450 nits is still not enough for working in direct sunlight.
The MediaTek Helio G91 processor is not the worst choice for a budget mobile assistant. Yes, 250 thousand points in the AnTuTu test are unlikely to surprise even an unpretentious user, but such performance is enough for more or less responsive operation of Android 15. Applications launch only with a short pause, gaming capabilities are insignificant, but not zero. Undemanding 3D games like Call Of Duty will not look like a slide show, but the graphics settings should be lowered to minimum or close to them. The battery capacity has been increased to 10360 mAh, so the phablet's autonomy is simply phenomenal. In statistics, you can often find 13-15 hours of active screen time or more. 128 GB of permanent memory is allocated, there is a separate slot for microSD cards.
The photo modules are not upsetting, but they are not delightful either. The 20-megapixel night vision sensor and 2-megapixel macro module are unlikely to be used often, it would be better to put a wide-angle lens or a telephoto lens in their place. But the main 48-megapixel module from Omnivision copes with daytime photo sessions, the photos are detailed, without excess noise. It's a pity that these words do not apply to evening shots. There is one speaker, the volume is high, but the frequency response is uneven, there is sound distortion. As for other advantages, we will highlight NFC contactless payments. Thus, the device leaves positive emotions and justifies the money requested for it.
