Ulefone Note 18 Ultra Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Ulefone Note 18 Ultra Overview
Ulefone Note 18 Ultra - an attempt to catch up with the leaders
The Chinese company Ulefone is far from being the most successful smartphone manufacturer, but it shows impressive financial results every year, while many of its rivals have already gone bankrupt or lost their audience. At the same time, the corporation stays afloat not due to a large-scale advertising campaign, but precisely thanks to balanced and competitive phones. The hero of today’s review is ready to outperform opponents in the price category in terms of functionality and performance.
The appearance of the new product is good for the value segment. Successful colors of cases made of high-quality matte plastic, a convenient side fingerprint scanner, a stylish dual camera unit, and reasonable display frames help the phablet look very decent. The 6.78-inch screen is made using IPS technology, which causes mixed emotions. There is no PWM effect, which is hated by many buyers and harmful to vision, but the brightness reserve of 600 nits is too small for the direct rays of the summer sun. But there are no problems with the smoothness of the image (refresh rate 90Hz) and its clarity (resolution 2460x1080 pixels), and color reproduction is also correct.
The technical characteristics are not new, but no less relevant: the MediaTek Dimensity 720 processor with support for 5G networks, 6GB of RAM and the Mali G57MC3 video core. The chipset is more productive than the frequently used Helio G99 and allows you to enjoy even really resource-intensive games. Thus, Genshin Impact works well with medium graphics settings. Ordinary users will also notice the smooth functioning of the Android 13 interface and the instant launch of applications. The unit is not deprived of permanent memory capacity, which reaches 256GB. It can be expanded with MicroSD cards, although in this case it will not be possible to use two SIM cards. The energy-efficient CPU goes well with the 5450mAh battery, so you won’t have to think about the nearest outlets for a couple of days. The only pity is that the fast charging power is limited to a modest 18W.
The 50-megapixel main (Samsung GN1) and wide-angle photo modules lack optical stabilization, but even without it they are capable of even taking evening shots without an abundance of blur and critical loss of detail. Of course, there is a lot of noise, but competitors do not always have the same level of photographic capabilities. There are no stereo speakers, but you can listen to your favorite music using wired headphones. NFC contactless payments, an infrared port for controlling household appliances and an affordable price tag complete the list of advantages of an extremely interesting device.
