Ulefone Power Armor 18 Ultra 5G Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Ulefone Power Armor 18 Ultra 5G Overview
Ulefone Power Armor 18 Ultra 5G - a smartphone for which there are no barriers
The Chinese company Ulefone has decided to significantly expand the functionality and performance of its rugged phones in the mid-price segment. Thus, the developer released several models on updated chipsets with interesting competitive advantages, including an attractive price. The hero of today’s review was one of them.
The appearance of the new product is almost similar to that of other representatives of the 18th series. The familiar texture of the rear panel, the equally memorable triple camera unit, and the convenient side-mounted fingerprint scanner look great, but they are also juxtaposed with thick screen frames and the impressive size of the rubberized body. Ergonomics are mediocre, but it’s rare that an inexpensive device with IP68 protection is ready to offer something different. The 6.58-inch IPS display evokes more clear emotions. It features a modern resolution of 2408x1080 pixels, a decent 120-Hz image refresh rate, and color rendition does not disappoint. Auto-brightness works correctly, it’s a pity that the maximum brightness level of 650 nits is still too low for exposure to direct rays of the summer sun.
The technical characteristics are the MediaTek Dimensity 7050 processor with support for 5G networks, 12GB of RAM, and Mali G68MP4 graphics accelerator. The combination has confirmed its relevance many times, because it can handle both demanding games and the resource-intensive Android 13 interface. Applications launch very quickly, and fans of Genshin Impact and Fortnite will be able to enjoy their favorites without much reduction in graphics presets. A capacious 9600mAh battery, thanks to the energy efficiency of the CPU, provides up to 15-20 hours of active screen time. There is wired charging with a power of 66W, as well as its wireless counterpart (15W). If there is still a person for whom 512GB of ROM is not enough, a slot for MicroSD cards is left for him.
The main 108-megapixel module from Samsung is excellent for artistic photographs in daylight. The detail is high, noise appears only in the evening. The auxiliary sensors are also quite good, namely an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens and a 5-megapixel macro camera. There is also a laser thermometer, NFC contactless payment, and a gyroscope. The final impression of the gadget is quite positive, because finding an equally durable and technologically advanced assistant is not easy.
