Vivo IQOO U6 Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Vivo IQOO U6 Overview
Vivo IQOO U6 - the farther the worse
The current economic crisis has affected every major company. Smartphone manufacturers are no exception. Developers have to either raise prices for new phone lines while maintaining or slightly improving functionality, or stick to the old pricing policy while simplifying updated devices. The hero of today's review belongs to the second category of gadgets.
The appearance of the novelty has undergone a number of small changes. The cases received different colors, and the dual camera block has also changed. However, the display bezels are still not the narrowest, and the form factor of the 5-megapixel selfie camera looks outdated. The plastic back panel and edging are also unlikely to appeal to sophisticated users, which cannot be said about the convenient side fingerprint scanner. The 6.51-inch IPS display loses to that of its predecessor. The resolution has been reduced to 1600x720 pixels, and the 120 Hz refresh rate has disappeared. As a result, the image is less clear and smooth.
Not happy with the technical specifications. The MediaTek Dimensity 700 CPU is noticeably weaker than the previously used Qualcomm Snapdragon 695. If the Android 12 interface is still responsive and free of unpleasant lags, then resource-intensive gaming applications like Genshin Impact will sometimes upset with slowdowns even at low graphic presets. 4GB / 6GB / 8GB of RAM and the Mali G57MC2 video chip are not able to correct the current situation. On the other hand, the chipset is quite energy efficient, so the need to search for sockets or power banks will not arise more often than once every one and a half to two days. The reason for this result is the 5000mAh battery. It is a pity that it is not endowed with a truly fast charge (18W). The size of the ROM has been increased to 128/256GB without the possibility of expansion.
The photo capabilities of 13- and 2-megapixel modules evoke rather negative emotions. Even daytime shots are sometimes replete with noise and loss of detail, but attempts to capture something in the evening are doomed to failure. There is no stereo sound, the only speaker will help you not to miss a call or notification, but listening to music will not work comfortably due to an unbalanced frequency response. Support for 5G networks closes the list of advantages of the device, but the list of disadvantages is replenished with the lack of NFC contactless payments and FDD-LTE B7, which is necessary for the operation of 4G networks in the CIS countries and Europe. Thus, the phablet is hardly worth considering for purchase against the backdrop of the still-selling U5.
