Vivo S18 Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Vivo S18 Overview
Vivo S18 - when you don't want to look for flaws
The S-series of smartphones from the Chinese company Vivo always magically combines the beauty of design, technology and a reasonable price. Surprisingly, every year an experienced developer only improves this ratio. And the hero of today's review is no exception to this rule.
The corporation's designers have seriously worked on the appearance of the new product. This is noticeable in the original block of photo modules with a separate LED flash, in the truly beautiful colors of the glass case, and in the missing display frames with a built-in fingerprint scanner. Perhaps a little criticism can be addressed exclusively towards the plastic edging. The 6.78-inch AMOLED screen simply has no disadvantages. It pleases with an impressive resolution of 2800x1260 pixels, a 120-Hz image refresh rate, and excellent color reproduction.
The selection of technical characteristics is also successful. The latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 CPU (8GB/12GB/16GB RAM, Adreno 710 video adapter) flawlessly combines performance and energy efficiency. Almost 900 thousand points in the AnTuTu benchmark leave no chance for any modern games to slow down; graphics presets will have to be slightly limited only in Honkai: Star Rail, Fortnite and similar resource-intensive projects. However, for smooth gameplay, medium-high graphics settings are sufficient. The 5000 mAh battery can easily withstand more than a day and a half of use of the gadget. The manufacturer left wireless charging for flagships, but the power of the wired alternative was increased to 80W. As for the amount of permanent memory, 256/512GB of ROM should be enough for 99% of users.
Photo capabilities correspond to other parameters of the device. If the 8-megapixel wide-angle lens doesn't have enough stars in the sky, the main 50-megapixel sensor from Omnivision is equipped with hybrid stabilization and creates impressive images regardless of lighting conditions or subject dynamics. Even a person without experience in photography can get a detailed shot. Of course, the high-tech device cannot do without stereo speakers, the volume of which at its peak reaches 87-90 dB. NFC contactless payments, support for 5G networks, updated Android 14 and an extremely affordable price tag once again emphasize the relevance of the device on the market.
