Vivo V29 Pro Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Vivo V29 Pro Overview
Vivo V29 Pro is an elegant replacement for flagships
Smartphones in the highest price segment are becoming more expensive every year, but often their price tag is not entirely justified. Not all users are willing to overpay hundreds of dollars for excess performance or not particularly necessary functions. It is for such people that the hero of today’s review was created, preserving the excellent design, excellent photo capabilities and other features of flagship devices at a more affordable price tag.
As noted earlier, the appearance of the new product was a success. The almost complete frameless screen, the beautiful block of three cameras, and the matte texture of the rear glass panel attract attention. Of course, it would not be possible without an under-screen fingerprint sensor and an ergonomically shaped thin body. The only part of the exterior that was saved on is the side edging, made of plastic. The 6.78-inch AMOLED display is simply devoid of shortcomings; the picture is characterized by an impressive 120 Hz refresh rate, an excellent resolution of 2800 x 1260 pixels for a diagonal, and a brightness reserve exceeding 1500 nits. There are no noticeable errors in color reproduction.
Technical characteristics are MediaTek Dimensity 8200 processor, 8/12GB of RAM and Mali G610MC6 graphics adapter. This is a wonderful combination that combines power and energy efficiency. More than 900 thousand points in the AnTuTu benchmark directly indicate that even resource-intensive games like Honkai: Star Rail and Fortnite will be free of bugs at any graphics settings. At the same time, throttling is minimal, and there is no significant heating of the device after hour-long gaming sessions. At the same time, the 4600 mAh battery, which is not the most impressive by today’s standards, provides about 7-8 hours of active screen time. Wireless charging is not provided, but its wired counterpart is endowed with a power of 80W. The savings are not visible on the size of the internal memory, increased to 256GB.
The photographic capabilities of the device are answered by the main 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 sensor with hybrid stabilization, a 12-megapixel telephoto lens with 2x zoom and an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens from the same manufacturer. The modules cope flawlessly with daytime shooting, and there is no disappointment with evening shots. Detailing is at a high level; there are few artifacts that are unpleasant to the eye, such as noise. The stereo sound is loud, rich, balanced, making it a pleasure to listen to your favorite music. Let's move on to the cons. There is no full-fledged global version of the phablet yet; the Indian version lacks FDD-LTE B7 and NFC contactless payment. Thus, it is recommended to wait for the phone to launch in the international market, where it definitely has a chance of becoming a hit.
