Vivo V40 Pro Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Vivo V40 Pro Overview
Vivo V40 Pro - beauty, performance, affordability
The Chinese company Vivo does not forget to update the V-line of smartphones every year, which are popular literally all over the world. The series, initially focused on excellent design, gradually acquired functionality, autonomy, and a number of other competitive advantages. The hero of today's review only continues to improve against the background of its predecessors.
The appearance of the new product is stylish in a flagship way. The original block of photo modules, attractive colors of the rear glass panels, thin display frames, smoothly turning into a metal edging, allow us to call the phone one of the best in terms of exterior in the price category. Surprisingly, such a graceful monoblock also received moisture protection according to IP68 standards. The 6.78-inch AMOLED panel does not fail either. The resolution of 2800x1260 pixels, which is decent for the diagonal, is complemented by a modern 120-Hz refresh rate, a huge brightness reserve of 4500 nits. At the same time, the developer did not forget to equip the AMOLED screen with correct color rendition and an oleophobic coating.
There was also a noticeable upgrade in technical characteristics. The MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ processor, 8 GB / 12 GB of RAM and the Mali Immortalis G715 graphics accelerator demonstrate impressive performance in benchmarks (about 1,300,000 points in the AnTuTu test), minimize lags in the Android 14 OS, and make applications launch instantly. There are no problems with resource-intensive games, Zenless Zone Zero and Genshin Impact function remarkably well at high graphics settings. The chipset has insignificant throttling, and it has good energy efficiency. You can expect about eight hours of active screen time from a 5500 mAh battery (fast charging with a power of 80 W). The permanent memory is allocated 256/512 GB without the possibility of expansion.
The photo capabilities of the main cameras are good and bring the phablet closer to the title of a real camera phone. The main 50-megapixel Sony IMX921 sensor and the IMX816 telephoto lens with a two-fold optical zoom are equipped with hybrid stabilization, and the wide-angle lens of the same 50 MP deserves compliments. The three cameras are excellent at daytime and evening photo sessions, and capturing dynamic scenes. Of course, the technological device could not do without loud stereo speakers, support for contactless payments NFC, 5G networks. It's a pity that the list doesn't include a wireless charging method, but even without it, the gadget looks like an extremely interesting purchase for the money the manufacturer is asking.
