Xiaomi 15S Pro Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Xiaomi 15S Pro Overview
Xiaomi 15S Pro - an unexpected victory for the brand
The vast majority of manufacturers of smartphones and other mobile electronics depend on component suppliers. Logistics problems, the need to agree with the pricing policy of other corporations and an abundance of other difficulties make almost every developer dream of independently producing certain components. Thus, the Chinese company Xiaomi has once again taken up the development of its own chipset, and a flagship one at that. Surprisingly, the result has exceeded literally all expectations.
The appearance of the new product repeats that of the Pro version, which cannot be considered a drawback. However, there are some changes. Thus, a carbon texture of the rear glass panel appeared, which looks fresh and expensive. The photo module block is still stylish and relevant, the display frames are minimal around the entire perimeter, the area of the fingerprint scanner built into it is large. The thin and ergonomic case has not lost its moisture protection according to IP68 standards. The 6.73-inch AMOLED panel has not lost its competitive advantages. The impressive resolution of 3200x1440 pixels guarantees stunning clarity of the displayed content, and the 120-Hz refresh rate adds smoothness to it. There is also a huge reserve of brightness (maximum - 3200 nits), high-quality oleophobic coating and realistic color rendition.
The Xring O1 processor is a good replacement for the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite and MediaTek Dimensity 9400. The CPU, together with 16GB of RAM and the Mali Immortalis-G925 MP16 video core, is not far from three million points in the AnTuTu test, so the HyperOS shell based on Android 15 functions without the slightest lag, and all existing games run freely at the highest graphics settings and at a frame rate of more than 60 frames per second. Throttling is present, but its values are far from critical. The battery life is provided by a 6100 mAh battery, which guarantees more than 9-10 hours of active screen time. Of course, in addition to wired charging at 90 W, the high-tech phablet also has its wireless counterpart with a power of 50 W. The ROM size can be 512/1024 GB, you won't have to be sad about the lack of a MicroSD card slot.
Photographic capabilities are close to those of the best camera phones. The main OmniVision Light Hunter 900 sensor and a telephoto lens with a five-fold optical zoom of 50 megapixels have hybrid stabilization, and cope perfectly with any shooting scenarios. The wide-angle lens of 50 MP lags slightly behind them, but even with its help you can get high-quality photos in the evening. Stereo sound is loud (more than 90 dB at peak), balanced. The gadget also has contactless payments NFC, support for 5G networks, eSIM, an infrared port for controlling household appliances. As a result, we have an attractive device in all respects without obvious disadvantages.
