Xiaomi 15T Pro Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Xiaomi 15T Pro Overview
The Xiaomi 15T Pro is still not a flagship.
The main line of smartphones from the Chinese company Xiaomi has expanded with another model. Now, the developer has decided to expand its range in the high-end price range. Without looking too closely, the hero of today's review is largely similar to the top-end solutions on the market, but at a significantly more affordable price. However, the devil is in the details.
The appearance of the new model is more than modern and beautiful. The manufacturer has generously included a metal frame with IP69 water resistance, a stylish round camera module, a variety of glass panel colors, and narrow screen bezels with a built-in fingerprint scanner. The 6.83-inch AMOLED panel is very bright (peak brightness over 6,500 nits), and its images are extremely smooth (refresh rate at 144Hz). However, image clarity isn't stunning due to the 2772x1280 pixel resolution, though it's not exactly mediocre. Color reproduction is natural, and the precise touch panel and high-quality oleophobic coating are highlights.
The technical specifications are impressive in terms of performance and energy efficiency. The MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ CPU, 12GB of RAM, and Mali Immortalis-G925 MC12 GPU approach 3,000,000 points in the AnTuTu benchmark, leaving no room for lag in modern games. The chipset handles them well at maximum graphics settings, though the frame rate will gradually drop from 100-120 frames per second to 60 in games like Genshin Impact or Fortnite. This is due to throttling due to excessive heat from the powerful processor. But there's no need to worry about battery life; the 6000 mAh battery easily delivers over 8-9 hours of active screen time. Fast wired charging has been increased to 90W, and wireless charging to 50W. These are decent values, and the same can be said for the 256/512/1024 GB UFS 4.1 storage options.
But the photography capabilities truly reveal the phablet's true essence. The Omnivision Light Hunter 900's main 50-megapixel sensor and 5x optical zoom telephoto lens, while equipped with hybrid stabilization, fall short of comparable sensors found in real camera phones. Complex shooting scenarios, including low lighting and dynamic subjects, result in increased noise and blurred details. The 13-megapixel wide-angle lens is recommended for daylight use only. Stereo sound is loud, with bass, adequate volume, and a balanced frequency response. NFC contactless payments, 5G support, and an IR port are all included. Thus, the device's functionality alone makes a very positive impression, but the display and cameras fall short of full-fledged flagship standards.
