The Chinese company Xiaomi has never been afraid of experiments. So, the corporation recently released a folding smartphone, and a little earlier it created a new CiVi line of Android phones, pleasing with a flagship design and the same assembly materials. Her first product found its audience, however, there were also flaws in the device. The hero of today's review is a small work on the bugs, but is it worth the difference in order to change the previous model for a new one? Let's figure it out.

Changes in appearance affected only the block of cameras, and even then only slightly. However, it is hardly necessary to change anything in the almost perfect exterior, which combines a frameless 6.55-inch AMOLED screen with metal side edges, neat shapes of a graceful glass case and impeccable ergonomics. But the installed AMOLED display not only retained such strengths as a high resolution of 2676 x 1238 pixels, a 120-Hz picture refresh rate, but also significantly increased brightness and color accuracy. Now even the most sophisticated users will not be able to express their claims to image quality. As for the in-screen fingerprint sensor, its accuracy is at the standard level for this type.

A slight increase in performance is observed due to the use of an "overclocked" Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G + processor with 8GB / 12GB of RAM and the Adreno 642L video core. However, it is impossible to detect an increase with the naked eye, demanding games show the same frame rate as on the "ordinary" version of the CPU. The buyer will be able to be content with medium-high graphics presets in titles like Genshin Impact, while the heating of the device is not so significant as to cause noticeable throttling. In addition, the representative of the 700th series also distinguished by good energy efficiency. A 4500mAh battery will ask the owner of the device to look for an outlet after 8-9 hours of active screen time. The power of fast charging has been increased to 65W.

But the photographic part in the face of 64-, 8- and 2-megapixel photomodules is still mediocre. The main Samsung GW3 sensor is also found in more budget Android smartphones, without optical stabilization its evening photo capabilities are limited, pictures are often upset by noise or blurry details. The sound component is not bad, the stereo speakers try not to upset the loudness and balance of the frequency response. Support for 5G, 128/256GB of ROM and the availability of NFC contactless payments also add to the phablet's pluses, but the impression is somewhat blurred due to the lack of FDD-LTE B20 and untranslated applications for the Chinese domestic market. Thus, the device is quite possible and even should be considered for purchase only if you have not yet acquired a similar predecessor.
