It is difficult to doubt the ability of the Chinese company Xiaomi to make excellent inexpensive smartphones. However, recently the most affordable phones of the corporation, as well as its sub-brand Poco, cause mixed emotions. So, the hero of today's review is not too different from its predecessor, and at the same time lags behind some opponents in the price category.

The appearance of the new product has slightly changed. The colors of the cases have changed, the round block of photo modules cannot be considered identical to the one used previously. It can be praised for the smoothness of the picture at a refresh rate of 120 Hz, natural color rendition, but not for the modest HD + resolution, a brightness reserve of about 550-600 nits. The image as a result lacks clarity, and the summer sun creates obstacles in working with the mobile assistant.

The technical characteristics are the MediaTek Helio G81 processor, 6GB/8GB of RAM and the MaliG52MC2 video adapter. In terms of performance, this solution is similar to the previous G85, so you should only count on a more or less smooth interface of the HyperOS shell (Android 14). Resource-intensive games like Fortnite or Genshin Impact run, but the frame rate will be unstable even with minimal graphics settings. Autonomy is not bad, the 5160 mAh battery is enough for a couple of days of active use of the phablet. The fast charging power has been brought to a relatively comfortable 18W. The permanent memory is allocated 128/256 GB with a slot for MicroSD cards.

The 50- and 2-megapixel cameras have not undergone a serious upgrade in terms of photographic capabilities. Daytime photos can still please with detail and the absence of an abundance of artifacts, but you should definitely not hope for successful evening photo sessions. The captured objects will be full of noise and blur. Stereo speakers have bypassed the device, but a separate jack for wired headphones has been retained. Also, contactless payments NFC, an infrared port for controlling household appliances have not been forgotten. Thus, we have before us not the worst gadget, but still having a number of significant disadvantages (mediocre CPU and screen), which is difficult to definitely recommend for purchase.
