Xiaomi Poco M6 Pro 5G Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Xiaomi Poco M6 Pro 5G Overview
Xiaomi Poco M6 Pro 5G is just a performance upgrade
The M-series of smartphones from the Chinese company Poco (Xiaomi's sub-brand) began its truly victorious march with models with the M3 index. These phones have become bestsellers due to the excellent combination of price and quality, but the further development of the line has stopped. Unfortunately, the hero of today's review also does not make an enthusiastic impression, because the progress in comparison with its predecessors is small.
The appearance of the novelty is not bad, but quite standard for the middle price category. Most of the body is made of inexpensive glossy plastic, but the dual camera unit, a 5-megapixel selfie camera at the top of the screen, pleases with the design. The side fingerprint scanner and eye-pleasing colors of the device also add to the list of exterior advantages, but the noticeable display frames are more likely to be attributed to the minuses. The 6.79-inch IPS screen negatively affected the dimensions of the device and its ergonomics, but, on the other hand, it simplifies web surfing and working with applications. Picture clarity is decent at FullHD + resolution, and smoothness is also increased thanks to a 90-Hz refresh rate. But the brightness is sometimes not enough, the direct rays of the sun reduces the visibility of the content.
Specifications are the best part of the phablet. The latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor with support for 5G networks, 4GB / 6GB of RAM and the Adreno 613 video adapter scores more than 500 thousand points in the AnTuTu benchmark, so you won’t have to watch the MIUI proprietary shell (Android 13) lag, and the situation is good with games. In the most resource-intensive Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail, you need to set low-medium graphic presets, but the gameplay will be devoid of stuttering and friezes. Of course, the new chipset does not disappoint with power consumption. The 5000mAh battery is always enough for a day and a half, even with very active use of the mobile assistant. It is a pity that the battery charging power was only 18W. 128GB of permanent memory is allocated, a slot for microSD cards is present.
The capabilities of the cameras will definitely not surprise the sophisticated fan of high-quality photography. The useless 2-megapixel sensor and the low-budget 50-megapixel main Samsung JN1 are only capable of retaining the detail and color reproduction of daytime shots. Deterioration of lighting, the appearance of dynamic objects add noise, blur and other artifacts. Stereo sound is left for more expensive devices, you won't be able to enjoy music because of modest volume and lack of bass. But the manufacturer did not forget about NFC, infrared port and headphone jack. Thus, the gadget is balanced, but rather boring and slightly different from existing opponents.
