Xiaomi Poco X8 Pro Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Xiaomi Poco X8 Pro Overview
Xiaomi Poco X8 Pro - the expected continuation of the bestseller
The X-series of smartphones from the Chinese company Poco, a sub-brand of the Xiaomi corporation, has been one of the most balanced in the mid-price segment for several years. Yes, the phones are not without a number of compromises, but only a few manage to achieve such a price-quality ratio. The hero of today's review will not be an exception to the rule, but we are sure that some fans of the brand still expected to see more impressive changes.
The appearance of the new product has not undergone any major revisions. The case is plastic, but tactilely pleasant, ergonomic, with moisture protection according to IP68 standards. The dual-photo module block is stylish, there are many colors of the back panels, they are stylized as leather and look relevant. The 6.78-inch AMOLED display still has a built-in fingerprint scanner. It pleases with good image clarity at a resolution of 2712x1220 pixels, a refresh rate increased to 144Hz, and a peak brightness of 3000 nits. Work has also been done on color rendition, which is now better calibrated. The oleophobic coating has not been forgotten either.
The technical characteristics include the latest MediaTek Dimensity 8500 processor, 8GB/12GB of RAM. The chipset is about 20% more productive than the 8400th model, the result in the AnTuTu benchmark is very close to two million points. The CPU is suitable for both smooth playback of the Android 15 interface (proprietary HyperOS add-on), and for any games. Wreckfest, Zenless Zone Zero and Genshin Impact do not upset with a jagged frame rate even at maximum graphics settings. The battery capacity has been increased to an impressive 7500 mAh, so you definitely won't have to worry about battery life. Supplemented with a fast 80W charge, the battery guarantees up to 2-3 days of interaction with the mobile assistant. The permanent memory is 256 or 512 GB, there is no slot for MicroSD cards.
Unfortunately, the photo capabilities have not advanced. The telephoto lens has not appeared, the wide-angle 8 MP lens is still mediocre and suitable only for daytime photo shoots. The main 50-megapixel sensor is already ready for evening shooting. Of course, there is much more noise and blur than in photo flagships, but the resulting photos and videos are still not embarrassing to post on social networks. The stereo sound has become a little louder, more uniform in frequency response. Contactless payments NFC, support for 5G networks and an IR port have not disappeared. As a result, we have before us a good old hit in an updated shell without any significant revolutionary metamorphoses. But is it bad? Not at all.
