Xiaomi Redmi 11A Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Xiaomi Redmi 11A Overview
Xiaomi Redmi 11A - visible but not enough changes
The most affordable smartphones of the Redmi line from the well-known Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi have often become international hits. The 5A and 8A models stood out especially strongly in the list of such devices, which at the time of release provided excellent displays, decent autonomy and good processors from Qualcomm. Unfortunately, subsequent products did not always live up to audience expectations. The hero of today's review also does not reach the standards set by his eminent predecessors.
The appearance of the novelty has a number of interesting solutions, but there are also enough unsuccessful aspects in it. The carbon texture back panel, the combination of the dual camera unit and the fingerprint scanner into a single design element are combined with the wide bezels of the IPS display and the outdated design of the 5-megapixel selfie camera. The 6.67-inch IPS screen impresses with its diagonal, but not with the clarity of the picture at a modest HD + resolution. The brightness and contrast ratios of the installed IPS panel are average for the price category, and there is also no increased image refresh rate.
Technical characteristics of many years ago will also not cause delight. The MediaTek Helio G25 CPU and PowerVR8322 video adapter, even combined with 2GB/4GB/6GB/8GB of RAM, are not capable of demonstrating excellent gaming capabilities. Thanks to the bunch, it will turn out only for the smooth functioning of Android 12 (MIUI shell), and the launch of undemanding projects like PUBG at low graphic presets. A 5000mAh battery is a guarantee of one and a half to two days of device operation. The appearance of the USB Type-C port did not affect the battery charging speed, it will take a couple of hours to be at the outlet. The size of the internal storage varies from 32 to the flagship 256GB, you can always expand it with MicroSD cards.
A truly noticeable improvement is the photo capabilities of the 50- and 2-megapixel main photomodules. The Samsung JN1 main sensor offers rich daytime shots without noise or detail issues. There is a separate night mode for evening shots, however, due to the lack of optical stabilization and budget lenses, it does not always improve the situation. There is no stereo sound, however, even with a single speaker, it will be difficult to miss an incoming call. Another thing, listening to music is unlikely to bring pleasure because of the unbalanced frequency response. There is an infrared port for controlling household appliances, but there are still no NFC contactless payments. As a result, the few metamorphoses that the gadget has undergone are unlikely to bring it to the rank of a bestseller.
