Xiaomi Redmi 13C Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Xiaomi Redmi 13C Overview
Xiaomi Redmi 13C - still too simplistic
The Chinese company Redmi (a sub-brand of Xiaomi) has captivated the smartphone market with its ability to create inexpensive, yet extremely functional devices without any critical flaws. Surprisingly, until a certain period of time, such phones only improved with each generation. Unfortunately, having received the necessary popularity and income, a famous developer is much less likely to surprise his fans. The hero of today's review was not a revelation either.
The appearance of the new product is better than that of its not very successful predecessor. The current block of three cameras, the ergonomic shape of the body, the convenient location of the side fingerprint sensor, and eye-pleasing colors give the device a positive design impression. Neither the display frames nor the outdated format of the 8-megapixel selfie camera can spoil it. The 6.74-inch IPS display does not boast of image clarity due to the modest HD+ resolution. But savings on image brightness, contrast and smoothness (90 Hz refresh rate) are not evident.
The technical characteristics are MediaTek Helio G88 CPU, 4GB/6GB/8GB RAM, Mali G52MC2 graphics core. The bundle cannot be considered new, but it still remains relevant for ordinary users. The MIUI interface (Android 13) does not suffer from numerous lags, applications open quite quickly. The situation with games is more complicated, because you can’t count on the successful launch of truly resource-intensive titles like Fortnite. But the less resource-intensive Call Of Duty feels great with average graphics presets. A 5000 mAh battery, thanks to the energy efficiency of the chipset and IPS panel, will give the mobile assistant about two days of operation. The size of the permanent memory can be 128 or 256GB, so a slot for MicroSD cards certainly does not seem superfluous.
The virtually useless 2-megapixel auxiliary portrait sensor is no longer alone, however, the macro module does not expand the list of shooting scenarios that were previously available with the main 50-megapixel Samsung JN1. There is no need to rely on high-quality evening shots without noise; for them you should turn to more expensive alternatives. You won't find stereo sound in the gadget; a single speaker will help you not miss a call, but you won't get the pleasure of listening to music with it. As for additional advantages, the list will be supplemented by the appearance of a USB Type-C port, the presence of NFC contactless payments (not in all versions), and a jack for wired headphones. Thus, the updated device is more of a work on bugs, but not a future bestseller, ready to outstrip all opponents.
