Xiaomi Redmi K40 Ultra Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Xiaomi Redmi K40 Ultra Overview
Xiaomi Redmi K40 Ultra - squeezing out the last
The Chinese company Xiaomi knows where to save money, and where, on the contrary, to spend too much. An impressive advertising campaign, the purchase of the most technologically advanced components in huge quantities, the competent work of designers - this is just an incomplete list of the impressive expenses of the corporation. The manufacturer shows savings very rationally. So, the good exterior of this or that phone is often used several times. And it looks like the hero of today's review will be the final gadget in the already sprawling K40 lineup.
The appearance of the novelty is not much different from that of its predecessors, as mentioned earlier. However, the beautiful design of the triple camera still retains its relevance, as does the stylish glass backs. The side fingerprint scanner is in place, and the bezel is unfortunately still made of plastic to keep costs down. It is she who is in speed and will collect a lot of scratches and chips when wearing an Android smartphone without a case. The 6.67-inch AMOLED display remains great in almost every way. FullHD + resolution is enough for a clear picture, the displayed image is endowed with the highest smoothness at a refresh rate of 120 hertz , there are no complaints about brightness and contrast. But the uniformity of gray and black is not always ideal and depends on the specimen, which was noted in other K40 phones.
Specifications are presented by the Mediatek Dimensity 1200 processor, 8GB of RAM and the Mali G77MC9 video accelerator. The chipset is not as powerful as the previously used Qualcomm Snapdragon 870, which calls into question the Ultra index. However, even such a CPU can handle any resource-intensive games at maximum graphics presets, without upsetting overheating or mediocre energy efficiency. Support for 5G frequencies is not yet relevant for Europe and the CIS, but the situation may change at any time. Problems with autonomy will bypass buyers, because a 5000mAh battery gives a good 8-9 hours of active screen time, and a quick charge at 67W reduces the stay at the outlet in 30-35 minutes. Rounding out the analysis of the "iron" 128 / 256GB ROM format UFS 3.1.
The main cameras are 64-, 8- and 5-megapixel modules, led by Sony IMX686. For a device at the turn of the middle and high price segments, this is an excellent set with a photosensor, which, during daytime shooting, produces images that are almost flagship in detail and color reproduction. The lack of optical stabilization manifests itself in the evening, and blurry and frames with an abundance of noise become frequent. However, with the proper skill, even such photos can be avoided. The volume of the stereo sound is impressive, and the frequency range is worked out quite smoothly. NFC contactless payments and an infrared port, coupled with a well-developed MIUI shell, complement the list of advantages of the gadget, while the disadvantages include the mentioned polycarbonate inserts and advertising in the software. As a result, the world-famous developer again released, if not a bestseller, then definitely a commercially successful smartphone.
