Xiaomi Redmi K70 Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Xiaomi Redmi K70 Overview
Xiaomi Redmi K70 - an uncompromising hit for China
The K-series of smartphones from the Chinese company Xiaomi has always pleased customers with an excellent combination of price and quality. In addition, each new generation of the line brought with it a significant increase in performance and functionality. Fortunately, the hero of today’s review was no exception to the rule, but fans of the brand outside the Middle Kingdom will have to wait for the global version from the Poco sub-brand.
The appearance of the new product has changed slightly. The block of photomodules has been changed, the glass panel has acquired a different texture, and the steel is smaller than the display frame. The edging remained plastic; there were traces of savings to contain the cost of the device. The 6.67-inch AMOLED screen features a balanced resolution of 3200x1440 pixels, which ensures excellent picture clarity and improved energy efficiency. The 120-Hz image refresh rate has a positive effect on the smoothness of the content; the AMOLED panel also has no problems with color reproduction, brightness reserve, or the performance of the under-screen fingerprint scanner.
Technical characteristics can only evoke an enthusiastic response from the audience. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 CPU is still one of the most productive chipsets, ready with 12GB/16GB of RAM and Adreno 740 video core to cope with any resource-intensive task. Neither rendering the interface of the proprietary MIUI shell (Android 14), nor launching “heavy” browser pages, nor video editors, nor modern games will interfere with the processor. Gamers will receive the most comfortable gameplay in game console emulators, projects like Genshin Impact, Fortnite with an impressive frame rate of 60 frames per second or more. At the same time, you don’t have to worry about throttling or autonomy. A 5000mAh battery will last about a day and a half; the battery reaches full capacity in 25 minutes (fast charging at 120W). It is difficult to criticize the amount of permanent memory, which has reached 256/512/1024GB of ROM.
50-, 8- and 2-megapixel photo modules do not bring the phablet into the camera phone segment, but they provide good photographic capabilities. The optically stabilized Sony LYT800 main sensor delivers flawless daytime photography that's indistinguishable from leading-edge flagships. Evening photography is also decent, but in the resulting photographs it is already possible to see noise and a drop in detail. Stereo sound is uniform, loud, and bass can be heard. NFC, infrared port for controlling household appliances and support for 5G networks have also not disappeared. The lack of FDD-LTE B7 and the need to reflash the gadget are frustrating. These issues will only be fixed in future Poco smartphones. However, if you don’t want to wait, then you can buy the device in question now. It definitely won't cause negative emotions.
