Xiaomi Redmi K80 Ultra Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Xiaomi Redmi K80 Ultra Overview
Xiaomi Redmi K80 Ultra - a regular "flagship killer"
The most expensive smartphones from Redmi, a sub-brand of Xiaomi, are becoming more and more interesting every year, but they still cannot be considered full-fledged flagship phones. Still, to reduce costs, the manufacturer has to constantly compromise. So, the hero of today's review looks more expensive than its price tag, is excellent in performance and autonomy, but still has a number of simplifications.
The appearance of the new product is beautiful. Rounded corners of the metal and glass case, reasonable thickness of the monoblock with moisture protection according to IP68 standards, a stylish round block of photo modules, thin screen frames with a built-in fingerprint scanner leave a pleasant impression. There are no questions about the 6.83-inch AMOLED display. It has decent clarity of content at a resolution of 2772x1280 pixels, and smoothness of the picture at a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The maximum brightness was not brought to a record, but impressive 3200 nits, the image was also deprived of obvious errors in color rendering. Of course, there is an oleophobic coating.
The technical characteristics are the most powerful MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ CPU, 12/16 GB of RAM and a Mali Immortalis-G925 MC12 graphics adapter. This choice of the developer can only be approved. The result in the synthetic AnTuTu 10 benchmark is within three million points, so it is very difficult to notice even minor lags in the HyperOS shell (Android 15). All existing games function perfectly with any graphics settings, the frame rate always exceeds 60 frames per second. At the same time, the battery life reaches 2-3 days, because the device has a 7410 mAh battery. But there is also the first sign of savings - the lack of wireless charging. There is only a wired analog with a power of 100W. ROM is allocated 256/512/1024 GB without a slot for MicroSD cards.
Photo capabilities are somewhat disappointing. You will have to forget about the telephoto lens, the 8-megapixel wide-angle lens turned out to be mediocre. The main 50-megapixel OmniVision Light Hunter 800 module is very good, although it is not the top in terms of detail of photos and videos taken in low light. Stereo speakers are less controversial. The volume is high, the bass is audible, the frequency response is relatively balanced. Of course, the gadget could not do without contactless payment NFC, support for 5G networks, and an IR port for controlling household appliances is available. But FDD-LTE B7 should be expected in the global version of the phablet. Thus, we are definitely not looking at a revolution in the market, but definitely a candidate for the title of a future hit.
