Xiaomi Redmi Note 12R Pro Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Xiaomi Redmi Note 12R Pro Overview
Xiaomi Redmi Note 12R Pro - a collection of strange decisions?
The Chinese company Xiaomi is known both for its ability to create real bestsellers and for its love for the irrational expansion of the range of smartphones. Unfortunately, quantity does not always mean quality, so sometimes there are ambiguous copies among the phones offered by the corporation. The hero of today's review refers to such devices.
The appearance of the novelty is beautiful, but it is not without obvious flaws. If the inexpensive polycarbonate case can still be forgiven for a representative of the middle price category, then the huge lower frame of the display is frankly disappointing. The dual photomodule, side fingerprint scanner and thoughtful color options for the rear panels leave a positive impression. The 6.67-inch AMOLED screen is extremely competitive. Not every opponent of the device has an equally bright and rich AMOLED panel with FullHD + resolution. Of course, I would like to address compliments to the 120-Hz image refresh rate and realistic color reproduction.
Specifications are controversial. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 processor was released recently, but this is a low-budget CPU, sometimes inferior in benchmarks even to the 695th model. If the proprietary MIUI shell based on Android 13 is free from strong jamming, then such words are already a stretch to apply to modern games. Honkai: Star Rail and similar resource intensive projects will be available at low graphics presets. It is not entirely clear why the chipset used was given as much as 12GB of RAM. But with energy efficiency, everything is in order. The 5000mAh battery will provide up to two days of really active use of the device. We saved on fast charging power (33W), but you still need to spend a little time at the outlet. The internal memory size of 256GB cannot be expanded with MicroSD cards, which is a little disappointing.
The photo capabilities of the main cameras are modest, to say the least. 48- and 2-megapixel photosensors without optical stabilization do not experience problems except for daytime photo shoots. But it is worth moving into the room or waiting for the evening, as noises appear, small objects are smeared. Stereo sound was reserved for more expensive gadgets, but a wired headphone jack was left for music lovers. NFC contactless payments, 5G support, infrared port increase the attractiveness of the mobile assistant, but not the most affordable price tag and the presence of unpleasant shortcomings will not turn it into a future hit.
