Xiaomi Redmi Note 12R Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Xiaomi Redmi Note 12R Overview
Xiaomi Redmi Note 12R - simplifications side by side with improvements
Understanding the range of smartphones from the Chinese company Xiaomi is not easy. Sometimes it lacks the usual logic, when, for example, the Pro-version of the phone must necessarily be better than its ordinary counterpart. So, the hero of today's review, with its more affordable price tag, surprises with higher performance.
The appearance of the novelty is unlikely to be an incentive for its acquisition. Before us is not the most attractive candy bar in terms of design, featuring the standard design of a dual camera, noticeable display frames. It is impossible not to mention the positive aspects of the exterior, namely a 5-megapixel front photo module in the screen, a fingerprint scanner on the side, and interesting body colors. The 6.67-inch IPS display does not strike the imagination with a margin of brightness, but it has increased smoothness (refresh rate at 90Hz), close to realistic color reproduction, and FullHD + resolution worthy of a diagonal.
Perhaps the main advantage of the device is the perfectly matched technical characteristics. The latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 CPU, 4GB to 8GB of RAM and Adreno 613 GPU are impressive for the price point. The chipset scores about 500 thousand points in the AnTuTu benchmark, its two cores are based on the ARM Cortex-A78 architecture, which until recently could only be found on flagship processors. As a result, even resource-intensive games like Genshin Impact are quite possible to try out with low-medium graphics presets. The power consumption of the chip is low, the 5000mAh battery is always enough for a day, and even for a day and a half. Fast charging is present, however, its power was only 33W. The amount of permanent memory of 128 or 256GB can be easily increased with MicroSD cards.
The main cameras are a 50-megapixel Samsung JN1 sensor and a couple of megapixel proximity sensors. There is no optical stabilization, the modules are quite budgetary, so it is hardly necessary to expect detailed evening photos from them. On the other hand, daytime shots are quite natural in terms of color reproduction, making a photo without blurring under good lighting conditions is easy. Unfortunately, the developer saved on stereo sound and NFC. Such things can become critical for a certain percentage of the audience, but the device will give other users extremely positive emotions.
