Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 4G Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 4G Overview
Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 4G - fixing the shortcomings
The basic model of the thirteenth generation of inexpensive phablets from the Chinese company Xiaomi was a real bestseller. For its small price, the phone offered not only an attractive design, but also good functionality, good battery life, and not the worst photo capabilities. However, the device's performance was not so smooth. And it was this minus that the developer was able to eliminate in the hero of today's review.
The new product definitely looks more expensive than its price tag. Although the back panels are made of polycarbonate, they are almost indistinguishable from those made of tempered glass in tactile sensations. The display frames are relatively thin, the photo module block is beautiful and modern, the fingerprint scanner is located inside the AMOLED panel. The 6.67-inch screen received the optimal FullHD+ resolution for the diagonal, as well as an impressive 120-Hz refresh rate. At the same time, the color rendering is natural, and the brightness reserve is more than 1800 nits. Thus, the image does not fade much in direct sunlight. There is even an oleophobic coating, although not very effective. But the PWM effect is still visible, which will not please people sensitive to it.
The technical characteristics are the MediaTek Helio G99 Ultra CPU, 6 GB / 8 GB RAM and the Mali G57MC2 video accelerator. The results in the AnTuTu benchmark rose from 250 to 370-380 thousand points, which positively affected the performance of the Android 15 interface (proprietary HyperOS shell), the speed of launching applications. The situation with games is also better. If earlier the user did not have to dream of resource-intensive projects like Genshin Impact and Fortnite, now they will work with low graphics settings. The battery has an increased capacity of 5500 mAh, now you can count on 10-12 hours of active screen time. But fast charging is far from the record (33W). The constant memory is 128/256 GB, a slot for MicroSD cards is available.
For photography, 108-, 8- and 2-megapixel cameras without optical stabilization are responsible. Auxiliary sensors are still mediocre, but the main module from Samsung copes with daytime photo sessions even of dynamic objects without problems. However, deterioration in lighting significantly affects both the detail of the pictures and the appearance of noise. As for the sound, the stereo speakers are loud, but the bass is lacking. There is a jack for wired headphones, there is no need to use exclusively wireless headsets. NFC contactless payments may be present, but everything depends on the regional versions of the device. But an IR port for controlling household appliances and a gyroscope will always be in the unit. As a result, we have before us a device that is not revolutionary, but extremely competitive and worthy of attention.
