The older representatives of the Note line of smartphones from the Chinese company Redmi (a sub-brand of Xiaomi) have always been distinguished by an excellent combination of price and quality. Every year, the manufacturer increasingly improved the functionality, design and other aspects of the mentioned products, but with the younger models, the situation was more like stagnation. However, the hero of today's review is finally changing the situation and demonstrating tangible improvements against the background of its predecessors.

The appearance of the new product is extremely attractive. The case is mostly made of polycarbonate, but very high-quality. It feels like glass in the palm of your hand, scratches and fingerprints cover the material reluctantly. Also, moisture protection according to IP64 standards appeared. The photo module block is more beautiful, the frames of the 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a built-in fingerprint scanner are now thinner. The AMOLED panel pleases with good picture clarity at FullHD+ resolution, modern 120Hz refresh rate and, as a result, excellent smoothness. Peak brightness was increased to 2100 nits, it is quite comfortable to interact with the device in direct sunlight.

Technical specifications were marked by a significant increase in performance. The latest MediaTek Dimensity 7025 CPU together with 6GB/8GB RAM and IMG BXM-8-256 video adapter came close to the 500 thousand point mark in the AnTuTu benchmark. The interface of the proprietary HyperOS add-on based on Android functions without any slowdowns, most resource-intensive gaming applications like Genshin Impact work stably with medium graphics presets. The battery capacity was increased to 5110mAh, so with an energy-efficient chipset, the user is guaranteed up to 9-10 hours of active screen time. The fast charging power has also been increased to 45W, so you need to be near the outlet for about 50-60 minutes.

Surprisingly, the photo capabilities have also been transformed. It is better to forget about the 2-megapixel auxiliary portrait sensor, but the main 108-megapixel Samsung HM6 module with hybrid stabilization is suitable even for evening and night photo shoots. Of course, the shots are inferior in detail to those of expensive camera phones, but there are relatively few blurs and noises, and photos can be posted to social networks without editing. There is also a wide-angle 8-megapixel lens. The stereo sound is not particularly uniform, one speaker is louder than the other, but you are unlikely to miss a call or notification. Support for 5G networks, contactless NFC payment and an optimal price tag once again prove the relevance of the device and its future hit status.
